Tips & Fan Reports
What fans who park here actually do, and what it cost them.
When you park in the arena garage, go straight at the entrance, turn left along the wall, and drop down a level. Park near the exit so you can get out faster and not get stuck in the garage.
Prepay for parking in the lots by the arena to know you have a spot. Depending on where they put you though, getting out can be an absolute nightmare. The T is free on game days if you are staying downtown.
Pittsburgh is hilly. The walk from downtown is slightly uphill. Worth it, but be aware.
The arena garage skybridge is the premium option, direct access without braving Pittsburgh weather.
Light Rail to Steel Plaza or Wood Street stations is a transit alternative, 10-minute walk from the arena.
Downtown garages are cheaper and the walk up Fifth Avenue passes several good pregame bars.
Rideshare pickup is on Centre Avenue. Follow signs after the game.

How We Checked This Page
Every section below names the source it was read from and the day it was read. Where we could not reach a published figure, the page says so rather than presenting an estimate as a checked fact.
- Parking guidance
Official PPG Paints Arena directions, parking and accessibility pages, read 2026-08-30: cashless arena lots, advance purchase, the non-hockey garage, bus passes, accessible lots and garage conditions, drop-off, map and parking phone. Lot-specific rates, hours, RV rules and closures are not published.
- Venue policies
Current PPG Paints Arena and Pittsburgh Penguins accessibility, arena-guide, ticketing, parking, payment, and concessions pages reviewed for Penguins policies.
Not yet checked against a published source
These figures are estimates. Most venues no longer publish the numbers behind them — concession and ticket pricing moved to dynamic marketplaces — so we hold them as estimates rather than dating them as verified.
- Parking prices — Never checked against a published rate: the venue's parking page, read 2026-09-05, publishes none — the lots are cashless and 'event parking rates vary'. The 2026-07-27 figures were compiled from third-party listings (was: "PPG Paints Arena 2026: the roughly 3,000 official arena spaces cost $26-$32 for Penguins games; off-site reservations from $6").
