What to Expect
Rate Field sits on the South Side of Chicago along the Dan Ryan Expressway, in the Bridgeport/Armour Square neighborhood. The White Sox have played on the South Side since 1910, and the current park, while not as picturesque as Wrigley Field, offers a more spacious, modern fan experience with South Side pride. The exploding scoreboard in center field is a White Sox tradition, firing off after every Sox home run. The pregame scene is more laid-back than the Wrigley/Wrigleyville atmosphere. Come for the baseball, the food, and the genuine South Side experience. Games run about 3 hours.

Tailgating before the game is a big part of the White Sox experience. Get there early and walk around the 100 level. Check out the shower that used to be in the Comiskey outfield and statues of Sox greats in center field.
Left field by the bullpen is fun - a lot of balls get hit in the area. First base side is good for avoiding the sun. Ticket prices are not crazy because it is the White Sox so enjoy cheap ball.
The scout seats lounge has an entire wall of old White Sox memorabilia and historical artifacts from 125 years of White Sox baseball. Sitting behind the Sox dugout or bullpen is my preferred spot.
The Stadium Club has two entrances — one at the right-field corner of the Club Level, one at ground level beside Gate 2 — so you can reach it without a club ticket's route.
Everything stops at first pitch. There is no post-game tailgating here at all.
The Xfinity Kids Zone is reachable from the 100, 300 and 500 levels, so a cheap seat does not put it out of range.
Sox-35th on the Red Line is effectively the ballpark's own station.
Lot E sells reserved tailgating spaces with dedicated room beside the bay — worth it if the tailgate matters more than the walk.
Scout Seats in the 100 also carry in-seat food and drink service.
Lots open two hours out, so the usable window is genuinely about two hours.

Rate Field permits clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags up to 12 x 12 x 6 inches and non-clear clutches up to 9 x 5 x 2 inches.

Rate Field publishes twelve rates across three lot groups, split by advance versus day-of and by Sunday versus the rest of the week. The floor is $15, for the Red North (A, C, G) or Green South (F, L) lots on a Sunday bought in advance; the non-Sunday advance rate is $22 and day-of is $35. The stored $20 was none of the twelve. The Neighborhood Lots entry was not re-checked.
