Road Closures on Game Day
- Road closures around the ballpark are in effect for every game and event at Rate Field, which is why the club pushes transit and rideshare so hard.
- The club publishes a road closure map alongside the parking map — worth checking against your route before you set off.

Tips & Fan Reports
What fans who park here actually do, and what it cost them.
The CTA Red Line is the cheapest option at $3 and drops you right at the stadium. Runs 24/7.
The Dan Ryan (I-94) runs right past the stadium. Easy on, easy off, post-game traffic clears in 15-20 minutes.
Lots fill for crosstown Cubs games and Opening Day. Pre-book or arrive 2+ hours early for those events.
Rideshare drop-off is on 35th Street near the main gates. Post-game pickup is smooth.
Tailgating is allowed in the lots. Bring coolers, chairs, and snacks. It's one of the best tailgating scenes in baseball.

Parking Rules
What the pass covers, what gets turned away, and the lots that run on their own rules.
Your Pass
- Lots typically open two hours before first pitch. The club confirms the exact time for your game in its "Know Before You Go" email.
- Parking here genuinely sells out, and offsite parking is not guaranteed. Buy before the day of the game.
- Your pass is valid only for the side you bought. A North Lot pass will not get you into the South lots, and it cannot be sorted out at the gate.
- Each lot has its own approach: Red North Lots A, C and G and Yellow Premium Lot B via 33rd Street and Wells; Black VIP Lot D and Purple South Premium Lot E via Wentworth and 37th Street; Green South Lots F and L via 39th Street and Princeton.
- All parking payments are cashless. White Sox parking staff wear a club name tag, and no one working for the club will ever collect payment outside a parking lot — do not hand your card to anyone who approaches you on the street.
Accessible Parking
Accessible parking sits in Lots B, C and E, and which one you are sent to depends on your ticket rather than your preference. You need both a parking pass and a state-issued placard or plate — the placard alone is not enough.
- Designated ADA spaces are in Lot B, Lot C and Lot E, and require a parking pass plus a state-issued disabled placard or plate.
- Rate Club, Suite and CIBC Scout Club ticket holders with a permit are directed to the marked ADA parking in Lot E.
- North or South lot guests holding ADA parking passes are directed to Lot C.
- Accessible stalls go first come, first served. Once they are full, staff direct fans to the nearest lot with standard stalls still open.
Bus & Limo Parking
Lot A serves as both the bus lot and the rideshare lot, on the north side of the ballpark.
- Buses use Lot A, entered from Wentworth Avenue before 35th Street.
Chicago White Sox Car Gear
Window flags, plate frames, and decals to fly Chicago White Sox colors in the lot.

How We Checked This Page
Every section below names the source it was read from and the day it was read. Where we could not reach a published figure, the page says so rather than presenting an estimate as a checked fact.
- Parking prices
Rate Field publishes twelve rates across three lot groups, split by advance versus day-of and by Sunday versus the rest of the week. The floor is $15, for the Red North (A, C, G) or Green South (F, L) lots on a Sunday bought in advance; the non-Sunday advance rate is $22 and day-of is $35. The stored $20 was none of the twelve. The Neighborhood Lots entry was not re-checked.
- Parking guidance
Official Rate Field parking page read through a browser: lot opening times, the sell-out warning, lot-designation enforcement, colour-coded access routes, ADA routing by ticket type, the cashless fraud warning, road closures, and both 2026 map PDFs.
- Venue policies
Current White Sox Rate Field information, disability-access, and concessions guidance reviewed for entry, family, payment, food, parking, and accessibility rules.
