What to Expect
Nationals Park sits on the Anacostia River in the Navy Yard neighborhood of southeast Washington, DC. The park opened in 2008 and hosted the 2018 All-Star Game and the Nationals' 2019 World Series run. The Navy Yard area has transformed from industrial to one of DC's hottest neighborhoods, breweries, restaurants, and waterfront parks surround the ballpark. The Presidents Race (giant-headed mascots of Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Teddy Roosevelt racing around the warning track) is the mid-game highlight. The Metro Green Line drops you a 5-minute walk from the gates.

The Nationals have the most liberal outside food policy in professional sports. You can bring anything that fits in a clear 16 inch bag plus sealed water bottles. Save a ton of money this way.
Don't buy parking online - it is cheaper to just buy at the garage on game day. Use the MLB Ballpark App for mobile ordering and try coupon codes like BUD or BUDHAPPY. They sometimes still work a day after they expire.
Roaring Rooster inside the park is solid if you want to eat inside. Otherwise eat outside at one of the Navy Yard restaurants before the game and just bring snacks in with you.
Lots open two hours and fifteen minutes before first pitch, which is later than most ballparks.
Netting covers Terra Club A-E, PNC Diamond Club 119-126 AND sections 109-118 and 127-135 — effectively the whole infield lower bowl. If you want nothing between you and the field, go up a level rather than closer.
Navy Yard on the Green Line is one block away — the closest rail station to any ballpark in this data bar Ball Arena's own stop.
Terra Club seats sit a few feet from the batter's box, the closest in the ballpark.
The club prints the last Green Line trains: past midnight Monday to Thursday, past 2am on Friday and Saturday.
The PNC Diamond Club includes food, draft beer and house wine, which changes the arithmetic against a cheaper seat plus concessions.
Park-and-ride at Metro-operated lots is free at weekends and on federal holidays.

A real correction, not a confirmation. WJLA quotes the Nationals on the 2026 change: beer was '$15.50 to $16.50' for 25 ounce, and the club is 'having more 16-ounce beer options at $9; so Budweiser, Bud Light, available throughout the ballpark'. Corroborated by r/Nationals ('16oz beers are a nice add for $9'). The stored $15 was the previous season's 25oz price carried under a 16oz label, which is both the wrong figure and the wrong unit.
