Nationals Park features DC-specific food, the half-smoke (a smoked sausage unique to Washington), Chesapeake crab cakes, and jumbo-slice pizza. Ben's Chili Bowl, the legendary U Street institution, has a stand inside the park. DC's craft beer scene is represented by DC Brau, Atlas, and Bluejacket. The Navy Yard neighborhood offers excellent seafood and breweries within walking distance.
Tips & Fan Reports
The Nationals have the most liberal outside food policy in professional sports. You can bring anything that fits in a clear 16 inch bag plus sealed water bottles. Save a ton of money this way.
Roaring Rooster inside the park is solid if you want to eat inside. Otherwise eat outside at one of the Navy Yard restaurants before the game and just bring snacks in with you.
Chesapeake crab cake is excellent, real crab with minimal filler. The Chesapeake Crab Cake Company stand is at Section 109 on the main concourse.
The half-smoke from Ben's Chili Bowl is the must-eat item, DC's signature sausage with chili. Available inside the park.
Old Bay seasoned fries are a Chesapeake region staple. Available at multiple stands.
The Navy Yard restaurants are better and cheaper than in-park options for a sit-down pregame meal.
Bluejacket brewery is walking distance and has better beer than anything inside the park. Go pregame.
DC Brau is the default local craft beer. The Public is their flagship pale ale, light and drinkable.

Know Before You Go
- Venue payments
Nationals Park does not accept cash for tickets, concessions, or retail purchases; cash remains accepted for 50/50 raffle tickets.
Convert cash to Nats Bucks at Advance Ticket Sales behind Sections 103/104 or Guest Services behind Section 131; Apple Pay is accepted at most locations.
- Outside food and drink
Single-serving food may enter in an approved bag or carried by hand for screening.
Each guest may bring one clear factory-sealed or empty plastic water bottle up to one liter; juice boxes, insulin containers, and baby food are also permitted, but frozen water bottles are not.
- Dietary options
Nationals Park publishes concession options by avoiding-gluten, dairy-free, egg-free, nut-free, soy-free, vegetarian, and vegan categories.
Ask a concession manager or Guest Services in Centerfield Plaza about dietary concerns; the venue warns that it is not strictly gluten-free or nut-free and cross-contact remains possible.
- Alcohol sales cutoff
Alcohol sales in Nationals Park general seating areas end after the eighth inning and may stop earlier at the Nationals' discretion.

- Drink prices: Never checked end to end against a published rate. MLB.com, read 2026-10-17, confirms the 16-ounce domestic beer at $8.99, and the stored $9 now reads $8.99. The Nationals' concessions and ballpark guides publish no drink prices, so the craft beer, frozen cocktail, soft drink and water figures have no published source. The 2026-08-14 stamp rested on a WJLA report quoting the club on the beer and compared nothing else.
