Advance parking passes are recommended for Nationals-affiliated garages and lots because drive-up parking is offered only for some games and is not guaranteed.
Have the digital parking ticket ready for an attendant to scan at entry; affiliated lots open two hours and 15 minutes before each game.

Nationals-affiliated garages and lots recommend advance passes; drive-up parking is available for only some games and is not guaranteed. Garages B and C prohibit tailgating. Commercial lots around Navy Yard provide alternatives, and the Capitol Riverfront has bars and restaurants.
Road Closures on Game Day
- From three hours before the game until about ninety minutes after: N Street from South Capitol Street to First Street SE, and Half Street from M Street to N Street SE.
- Over the same window, Van Street and Cushing Place between M and N Streets SE are restricted to local traffic.
- From about forty-five minutes after the final out: First Street from M Street to Potomac Avenue SE, and Potomac Avenue from South Capitol Street to First Street SE.
- Also after the game: northbound South Capitol Street from Firth Sterling Avenue to M Street SE, and Howard Road from Firth Sterling Avenue to Suitland Parkway SE.
- Two highway ramps shut after the game as well: southbound I-295 Exit 4 and eastbound I-395 Exit 1A.

Don't buy parking online - it is cheaper to just buy at the garage on game day. Use the MLB Ballpark App for mobile ordering and try coupon codes like BUD or BUDHAPPY. They sometimes still work a day after they expire.
Navy Yard station is one block from the ballpark, while Capitol South is about a 15-minute walk.
Garage C exits south over Frederick Douglass Bridge for I-295 or Suitland Parkway; Geico Garage traffic goes north on South Capitol Street.
The club prints the last Green Line trains: past midnight Monday to Thursday, past 2am on Friday and Saturday.
Lots open 2 hours 15 minutes before the game and close an hour after it ends. They will not wait.
Park-and-ride at Metro-operated lots is free at weekends and on federal holidays.
Navy Yard on the Green Line is one block away, the closest rail station to any ballpark in this data bar Ball Arena's own stop.
Capitol South on the Orange, Blue and Silver Lines is the alternative, about 15 minutes on foot.

Your Pass
- The Geico Garage is entered from N Street and South Capitol Street, SE.
- Getting out is routed by garage, so it is worth knowing which one you are in before the ninth inning. Geico Garage traffic is sent northbound on South Capitol Street toward I Street, with the 3rd Street Tunnel or I-395 west toward Virginia as the onward options.
- Garage C traffic is sent southbound on South Capitol Street across the Frederick Douglass Bridge, with I-295 in either direction or Suitland Parkway east as the onward options.
Getting There
Nationals Park publishes the single most practically useful transit fact in this data: the last train home, by day of the week, from the station a block from the gates. Two Metro stations serve it (Navy Yard on the Green Line at one block, Capitol South on the Orange, Blue and Silver at fifteen minutes' walk) and the club prints the Green Line's last departures rather than leaving you to work them out at 11pm.
- Driving
- The Nationals publish no route in. The ballpark is at 1500 South Capitol Street SE, bounded by South Capitol Street to the west, N Street to the north, First Street to the east and Potomac Avenue to the south. All lots and garages open 2 hours 15 minutes before the game and close 1 hour after it ends. Tailgating is not permitted in any Nationals lot or garage.
- Public Transit
- Take the Green Line to Navy Yard station, one block from the ballpark, or the Orange, Blue or Silver Lines to Capitol South, about a 15-minute walk. The club publishes the last Green Line departures from Navy Yard: Monday to Thursday 12:18am to Branch Ave and 11:53pm to Greenbelt; Friday 2:18am and 1:53am; Saturday 2:18am and 1:51am; Sunday 12:18am and 11:51pm. Daily or hourly parking is available at 51 Metrorail stations, free at Metro-operated lots on weekends and federal holidays.
- Rideshare
- The Nationals suggest rideshare pickup at N Street SE and New Jersey Avenue SE, on L Street SE between First Street SE and New Jersey Avenue SE, or at M Street SE and Half Street SE, and ask riders not to be picked up or dropped off on South Capitol Street. After the game, taxis wait at the stand on the north side of M Street SE between South Capitol Street and Half Street SE, one block north of the Center Field Gate.

- Navy Yard station is one block from the ballpark; Capitol South is about a 15 minute walk.

The DC Circulator entry is removed: dccirculator.com returns NXDOMAIN and DDOT’s own /page/dc-circulator returns "Access denied". That leaves the venue with no publishable car-free figure, which is declared rather than dodged -- and it is the right trade. Publishing $1 for a bus that no longer runs is worse than publishing nothing. The Metro entry keeps its provisional flag for the reason Capital One Arena’s tenants do: WMATA is distance-based at $2.25-$6.75 on a weekday before 9:30pm, which is exactly when a 7pm first pitch lands, and the entry names a station but no origin. The real fix is to give it an origin, and WMATA publishes no station-to-station calculator this pass could reach -- its tariff is a PDF and its Nationals Park rider guide states no fare at all

These figures are estimates. Most venues no longer publish the numbers behind them (concession and ticket pricing moved to dynamic marketplaces), so we hold them as estimates rather than dating them as verified.
- Parking prices: Never checked against a published rate: the venue's parking page, read 2026-09-05, publishes none: the cited source is a police traffic advisory from April 2024 that names two garages and prices neither. The 2026-07-26 figures were compiled from third-party listings (was: "Nationals Park 2026: official parking $20-$49 by game tier; Garage B/C attached to the stadium $54, other official options $37-$39").
