What to Expect
Chase Field in downtown Phoenix is one of few MLB ballparks with a retractable roof and air conditioning, essential where summer temperatures exceed 110°F. The roof stays closed May-September, keeping the interior at ~78°F. When open on cooler spring and fall evenings, the desert sky provides a beautiful backdrop. The D-backs have invested in unique food (the famous Churro Dog) and the atmosphere is family-friendly. Games run about 3 hours.

Tips & Fan Reports
The ticket box at Chase Field is a good quick experience if you want to buy day-of. For a day game consider shade - one side gets direct sun. They are not fixing the AC until next year so it can get warm.
There is street parking nearby if you don't want to pay for the stadium garage. The light rail drops you off close too. Chase Field is in downtown Phoenix so plenty of food options within walking distance.
Try the Take Me Out to the Ballgame Shake if you have a sweet tooth. It is salted caramel with peanut butter cookies, Kit Kats, and Cracker Jacks. Ridiculous but fun.
Left turns from 7th St westbound onto Washington St are prohibited — a map app may not know.
The daily light rail fare caps at $4, so a park-and-ride trip in and out costs no more than one longer ride.
The Avnet Home Plate Club admits only Clubhouse Box and 1st/3rd Base Box ticket holders. No other seat opens it, whatever it cost.
Book parking ahead through the club rather than arriving to look for a space downtown.
The Suite Lounge on the Diamond Level is for Suite and Diamond Level tickets and overlooks the third-base side.
Trains run every 15 to 20 minutes, every day of the year.
The museum entrance is the 20-year member route, not a general one.

How We Checked This Page
Every section below names the source it was read from and the day it was read. Where we could not reach a published figure, the page says so rather than presenting an estimate as a checked fact.

- Venue policies
Chase Field policy, bag, accessibility, concessions, payment, parking, and ticket guidance reviewed for entry, family, payment, food, and accessibility rules.
Not yet checked against a published source
These figures are estimates. Most venues no longer publish the numbers behind them — concession and ticket pricing moved to dynamic marketplaces — so we hold them as estimates rather than dating them as verified.
- Ticket prices — Secondary market averages (SeatGeek/StubHub)
- Parking prices — Never checked against a published rate: the venue's parking page, read 2026-09-05, publishes none — the page is driving directions and prices nothing. The 2026-07-26 figures were compiled from third-party listings (was: "Chase Field 2026: official stadium lots and surrounding garages $15-$35; attached 1,500-space garage on 4th Street, prepaid via ParkWhiz saves 10-20% on drive-up").
