What to Expect
Coors Field sits in Denver's LoDo (Lower Downtown) neighborhood at 5,280 feet above sea level, the highest elevation ballpark in professional sports. The thin air makes it the biggest hitter's park in baseball: balls fly farther, breaking pitches don't break as sharply, and home runs come in bunches. The Rocky Mountain front range is visible beyond the outfield on clear days. The Ballpark District surrounding Coors Field is one of Denver's best neighborhoods for bars, restaurants, and craft breweries. Colorado's craft beer scene is world-class. The Rockpile seats in center field ($6) are the cheapest in MLB. Games run about 3 hours.

Denver is at altitude so beer hits you harder and faster than normal. Pace yourself especially if you are not used to it. Sunscreen is also essential even for evening games - the sun is intense at 5,280 feet.
The food at Coors Field is nothing special with one exception: G Cue BBQ in section 302 on the rooftop and section 331. That is the one place worth eating at inside the park.
Coors Field is in LoDo (Lower Downtown Denver) and surrounded by great bars and restaurants. Eat and drink before the game then just enjoy the park. The Rockpile seats are cheap and fun for a casual game.
One row in the upper deck is painted purple to mark exactly one mile above sea level.
No drinking in the lots, which is the rule that pushes the Coors Field pregame into LoDo.
Lots A and B run a shuttle to Gate A, so the far end of 4,300 spaces is not a long walk.
The club names no light rail station — plan that leg on RTD's own map.
The Club Level is sections 214-227 on the first-base side and 234-247 on the third, with its own concourse and food service.
A large group can book the Coors Outfield Picnic Area beside Gate A rather than trying to gather in a lot.
The Platte River Picnic Area sits under the Rockpile and is covered — one of very few sheltered spots in an open-air ballpark.

Coors Field permits soft-sided, single-pocket bags and containers up to 16 x 16 x 8 inches.

Gates A and E open two hours before first pitch, while Gates B, C, and D open 90 minutes before first pitch.
