What to Expect

American Family Field sits off I-94 in a suburban setting surrounded by acres of parking lots, which means one thing in Milwaukee: tailgating. The Brewers have the best tailgate culture in baseball, with charcoal grills, brats on every grate, and cornhole games stretching across the lots hours before first pitch. The retractable roof means weather is never a reason to skip a game. Inside, the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, Milwaukee is a small-market city with big-market passion. Bernie Brewer slides down his yellow slide after every home run. The Famous Racing Sausages sprint around the warning track every 6th inning. Games run about 3 hours.

Tips & Fan Reports

The parking lot has a very football tailgate feel to it. Wait until after first pitch and buy at the box office for like 40% off behind home plate. Seriously works all the time for the Brewers.

Honey roasted nuts just left of home plate on field and loge level are great. Pose with the racing sausage statues in right field on the lower level near the kids play area for a fun photo.

Sections 210-212 on the first base side are my recommendation. Ice cream in a souvenir helmet is a cheap fun keepsake. Also check out Eagle Park brewery nearby before the game.

Sec210Brewers

Food prices at American Family Field are below the MLB average, Milwaukee is one of the most affordable ballpark food experiences in baseball.

The Hank Aaron State Trail connects the ballpark to the lakefront without a road crossing, and a Bublr Bikes station with 23 docks sits near the Gantner Lot.

Weekday 6:15 and 6:40 games open the lots 2.5 hours out rather than three.

I-94 East-West construction is ongoing — plan the route on the state's own 94eastwest planner rather than a general map app.

You cannot buy a second space for the tailgate. One vehicle, one space, and the gear goes around it.

Parking prices

The Brewers' own rate table gives general parking at $14 advance and $17 day-of on weekdays, $16 and $22 at weekends and for Cubs games. $14 is the published floor. Supersedes a third-party guide's '$15 weekdays, $20 weekends', neither of which appears in the club's table. The Overflow Lots entry is not a club facility and was not re-checked.
