What to Expect
PNC Park is widely considered the most beautiful ballpark in baseball. Sitting on the North Shore of the Allegheny River, the ballpark frames the Pittsburgh skyline, the Roberto Clemente Bridge, the downtown towers, and the river, beyond the right-field wall. The pregame walk across the Clemente Bridge (closed to traffic on game days) is one of the great experiences in American sports. Inside, the ballpark is intimate (38,747 seats, the smallest in MLB), with excellent sightlines and a passionate but relaxed fan base. Pierogies, Primanti Brothers, and Iron City Beer complete the Pittsburgh experience. Games run about 3 hours.

Club level seats between sections 211-222 are awesome. Better food selection and access to the Pittsburgh Baseball Club indoor seating in case it rains. PNC Park was ranked MLB's best ballpark by USA Today.
The backdrop and views from PNC Park are gorgeous - take lots of pictures. Walk around the park and check out the Roberto Clemente bridge and skyline views. One of the best settings in all of sports.
Park downtown and walk or take the T to PNC Park. There are no cup holders for seats in the 300 level which surprises people but it is not a big deal. The 300s still have a great view and don't feel as high up as other parks.
Pirates Cove in sections 201-205 is all-you-can-eat: hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, peanuts and soda included.
Tailgating stops when the game starts — you leave the lot rather than carrying on through the first innings.
The First Side garage connects to the First Avenue T station from its third floor, so you can park and ride in without going outside.
Waze carries the Pirates' lot data, event-day traffic patterns and street closures, which general mapping apps do not.
Riding the free T from Allegheny station shortens the walk considerably — the Pirates recommend it for families with young children and anyone with limited mobility.
The T is free within downtown and the North Side station is diagonally across General Robinson Street from the Home Plate entrance.
Coming from the east, skip downtown afterwards: Second Ave eastbound to I-376 at Bates St.

Alco Parking, the operator of the North Shore facilities serving PNC Park, publishes a full rate card for Pirates games with a $15 floor (Gold 1 Garage) and $20 across most of the North Shore. Both costs.parking figures are confirmed against it and neither moves. Applied to carry the verified $15 onto the parking page's lot list, which was showing $10 for the same lots under the name "North Shore / Allegheny Lots" — a figure that appears nowhere on the operator's card.
