What to Expect
Great American Ball Park sits on the Ohio River in downtown Cincinnati, with views of the Northern Kentucky hills beyond the outfield. The Reds are the oldest professional baseball team (founded 1881) and the ballpark honors that history with statues of Pete Rose, Joe Morgan, and other franchise legends outside the main entrance. The pregame scene centers on The Banks, the entertainment district between the ballpark and Paul Brown Stadium, with bars, restaurants, and a riverfront promenade. Cincinnati's craft beer scene is one of the best in the Midwest, and Rhinegeist and MadTree are well-represented inside the gates. Games run about 3 hours.

Moerlein Lager House or Yardhouse are both great restaurants minutes from the stadium for pregame. Moon Deck or Bleachers are my top picks for seats. There really is not a bad seat in the whole park.
You can bring in bottled water and peanuts - they are much cheaper outside the stadium. Don't open them before you enter the ballpark or they will not let them through. Soft sided coolers are allowed too.
Section 524 is nice because of the view of the river and it is much cheaper. The incline is surprisingly slight at Great American - you are not going to feel like you are climbing a mountain to your seats.
You must try a Skyline Chili coney or 3-Way at the ballpark. It's the quintessential Cincinnati food experience. Order it 'all the way' (mustard, onions, cheese).
Day-of parking is credit card only; there is no cash option.
Book the Central Riverfront Garage ahead by phone or online rather than chancing it.
Club Boxes at the back of 306 and 307 are entirely under cover and open directly into the climate-controlled Champions Club.
The West and East Garages take single-game passes too but depend on availability.
The Brent Spence Bridge project has closed the Second Street ramps from eastbound Sixth Street/U.S. 50 and southbound I-75.

Bags and soft-sided coolers may measure no more than 16 x 16 x 8 inches.
