Know Before You Go
- Bag policy
Permitted bags are clear single-compartment bags no larger than 12 x 12 x 6 inches, non-clear bags no larger than 9 x 5 x 2 inches, or one-gallon clear resealable bags.
Diaper bags up to 16 x 16 x 8 inches and ADA or medically necessary items are exceptions; all carry-in items are inspected.
- Bag storage
American Family Field does not check bags or provide storage for items rejected by security.
The Brewers are not responsible for items left in screening areas.
- Gate opening
Gates open 90 minutes before most games and two hours before Saturday home games and Opening Day.
Gate and game times are subject to change.
- Mobile tickets
A mobile ticket barcode must be displayed on a mobile device and scanned for entry through the MLB Ballpark app.
Print-at-home tickets are not accepted; load tickets in the app before arrival so they remain available if connectivity is limited.
- Re-entry
Guests may not leave and re-enter American Family Field on the same ticket.
In an emergency, ask Brewers staff for assistance before exiting.
- Prohibited items
American Family Field prohibits alcohol, illegal drugs, backpacks, multi-compartment bags, cans, glass or metal containers, coolers, weapons, pepper spray, laser pointers, noisemakers, and other listed items.
Oversized camera lenses, monopods, tripods, non-factory-sealed bottles, full-size bats, and non-clear drawstring or tote bags are also prohibited; review the full official list before arrival.
- First aid
First Aid Rooms staffed by Aurora Health Care medical personnel are on the Field and Terrace Levels behind home plate.
Ask any ballpark staff member for medical assistance.
- Nursing and lactation
The Mom and Baby Nursing Suite is inside the First Aid Room on the Field Level near Section 116, next to Guest Relations.
A Mamava nursing suite is also near the Terrace Level Guest Relations kiosk behind Section 419, and a baby-changing table is available in the Field Level suite.
- Family restrooms
Family restrooms are behind Sections 116, 206, 230, 419, and 426, and behind PNC Club Level Suites 29 and 67.
All ballpark restrooms have baby-changing stations; an adult-size changing table is in the family restroom behind Section 206.
- Tickets for children
Children age 2 and younger may enter without a ticket when seated on a parent or guardian's lap.
- Guest services
Brewers Guest Relations kiosks are on the Field Level near Section 116, Loge Level behind Section 221, and Terrace Level behind Section 419.

- Service animals
Trained, housebroken service animals are welcome when accompanied by their handler, leashed, controlled, and not a safety risk.
For relief, service animals may exit and re-enter through Home Plate East Gate to use the nearby designated relief area.
- Smoking and vaping
Tobacco, smokeless tobacco, electronic cigarettes, and tobacco substitutes are prohibited inside American Family Field.
The designated smoking area is on the plaza in the Potawatomi Gate area.
Game Day Timeline
What the day looks like at American Family Field, hour by hour.
Arrive and start tailgating
Pull into the general lots early and claim your spot. Fire up the grill, crack open a beer, and join the tailgate scene that makes Miller Park, sorry, American Family Field, famous.
Peak tailgate hours
The lots are in full swing. Brats, burgers, and beer everywhere. Neighbors share food and play cornhole. The smell of charcoal fills the parking lots.
Head inside
Walk through the main gates and explore the concourse. Check out the team store or grab a beer at one of the craft bars inside.
Watch batting practice
Head to the outfield sections for BP. The retractable roof may be open or closed. When open, the natural light transforms the ballpark.
Find your seat
Settle in and watch the pregame ceremonies. The video board runs lineups and highlights.
Play ball
Nine innings of Brewers baseball. The crowd is engaged from pitch one, Milwaukee fans know their baseball.
Famous Racing Sausages
The Bratwurst, Polish Sausage, Italian Sausage, Hot Dog, and Chorizo race around the warning track. Pick your sausage and cheer them on. It's a Milwaukee institution.
Tailgate round two
The parking lot tailgate continues after the final out. Finish the brats, rehash the game, and enjoy the most relaxed post-game exit in baseball.

Free Brewers Line shuttle bus from downtown Milwaukee runs on game days. No car needed from downtown.
The retractable roof means games are never rained out. If it's cold or rainy, the roof stays closed and it's comfortable inside.
Tailgating is the main event. Arrive at least 2 hours early with a grill, brats, and a cooler. The lots are massive and welcoming.
The sausage race (Racing Sausages) between innings is a beloved tradition. The crowd picks favorites.
American Family Field has one of the best tailgating scenes in ALL of sports - not just baseball. Arrive 3+ hours early.
Weekday 6:15 and 6:40 games open the lots 2.5 hours out rather than three.
You cannot buy a second space for the tailgate. One vehicle, one space, and the gear goes around it.
No wood, and no open flame of any kind: the fire marshal's rule. Gas or propane with a fuel-valve turn-off, or a self-contained charcoal unit.
The 30-minute rule is real: half an hour after first pitch you are either inside or off the property.
Before the Game
American Family Field is the most tailgate-friendly ballpark in baseball and writes the rules to match. Tailgating is permitted in every lot except the employee and rideshare lots, with one vehicle per purchased space, and you cannot buy a second space to use as tailgate ground. The fire marshal sets the cooking rule: state-approved gas or propane units with fuel-valve turn-offs, and self-contained charcoal units, with no open flames or wood fires at all. Charcoal goes in the coal bins at the base of the parking lot lights. Lots open three hours before first pitch, or 2.5 hours for weekday 6:15 and 6:40 games, and everything must be packed up 30 minutes after the game starts.

The general parking lots
Every lot at the ballpark permits tailgating except the employee and rideshare lots. One vehicle per purchased space, and only ticketholders are allowed in the lots at all.

Pregame Rules
What American Family Field allows before the game, and what it does not.
- Tailgating is permitted in all lots except employee parking lots and the rideshare lot, with all vehicles occupying a purchased space.
- Only ticketholders are permitted in the parking lots.
- Only state-approved gas or propane units with fuel-valve turn-offs, and self-contained charcoal units, are permitted. No open flames or wood fires are allowed, by order of the fire marshal.
- All charcoal must be dumped in the coal bins provided, located at the base of the parking lot lights.
- Tailgating must end 30 minutes after the game starts, at which point fans must enter the ballpark or vacate the premises.
- Parking lots open three hours before the game, or 2.5 hours before first pitch for weekday games starting at 6:15 p.m. or 6:40 p.m. Lots close within one hour after the game ends.
- One vehicle per space. Additional parking cannot be purchased for use as tailgating space.
- There is no in/out parking. A patron who leaves the lot pays the full charge again for re-entry, if space is available.
Weather
American Family Field has a retractable roof, so these are the conditions for the walk in and the pregame, and the roof decides the rest.
Across the MLB season the warmest month is July, with an average high of 85°F, and the coldest is April, when the average low is 37°F. June is the wettest month at 5.0 inches and October the driest at 3.1 inches.
That April low ranks 4th coldest of the 30 MLB venues, and June here ranks 6th wettest.

Each guest may bring personal-size food items and one factory-sealed non-alcoholic plastic bottle of 32 ounces or less.
- A card or a phone wallet
Concession stands, retail locations, and portable kiosks are cashless and accept credit or debit cards, Brewers Gift Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and prepaid cards.
