What to Expect
SAP Center, the Shark Tank, sits near Diridon Station in western downtown San Jose. The Sharks have one of the most passionate fanbases in the NHL, famous for the Shark Fin Chomp, teal jerseys, and the legendary Shark Head entrance. The pregame scene centers on the bars and restaurants along San Pedro Square and Santa Clara Street. SAP Center is one of the loudest arenas in hockey during playoff runs. Games run about 2.5 hours in regulation. Silicon Valley weather means comfortable outdoor pregame year-round.

Pro tip - you can drink on the Caltrain. Grab a tallboy and enjoy the ride in if you are coming from outside San Jose. The future is bright here and the fans are real.
The Sharks attack towards the lower numbered sections (103-113 and 203-213) in the 1st and 3rd periods. Sit on that side for the best action.
Check the SAP Center bag policy before you go. The arena is in downtown San Jose so there are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance for pregame food.
Legends Level access is prioritised through a Sharks365 or Premium Membership, or by a refundable $500 deposit. It is a waiting list rather than a ticket you simply buy.
The Penthouse Lounge is the established premium product: four- or six-person theatre boxes with chef-inspired food and a private bar.
On-site parking is entered from Santa Clara Street or Julian Street; about 1,500 spaces beside the arena and 3,000 within a third of a mile.
A smaller 5 by 9 by 2 bag still gets you through faster, which is the arena's own advice.
This is the most bag-friendly arena on the site by a wide margin — up to 20 by 14 by 11 inches is accommodated, where most arenas cap at a clutch.
The Cove, the Captain's Lounge and the First Line Lounge have been announced without published inclusions or locations — confirm what a ticket carries before committing.
For hockey the upper bowl shows you more of the game than the glass does, at a fraction of the price.

Bags up to 20 x 14 x 11 inches are permitted if they fit under the seat; bags larger than 5 x 9 x 2 inches receive X-ray screening.
