What to Expect
Scotiabank Saddledome sits on the Stampede grounds in southeast Calgary, the same site as the famous Calgary Stampede. Flames fans are passionate and loyal, the C of Red fills the arena on game nights. The pregame scene centers on the bars and restaurants along 17th Avenue SE (the Red Mile) and the pubs near Victoria Park. Calgary winters are cold but the +15 Skywalk connects downtown to the arena area for weather-protected walking. Games run about 2.5 hours in regulation. The Saddledome's distinctive saddle-shaped roof is a city landmark.

Game Day
There is no bag check of any kind here, so an oversized bag means a trip back to the car. Plan the 14 by 14 by 6 limit before you leave.
Doors open 90 minutes before a Flames game, longer than for most other events here.
Construction on and north of Stampede Park is live: follow the signs rather than the route you remember.
Parking & Directions
Take the CTrain from Marlborough station to City Hall then transfer to the Red Line. Follow the giant crowd of Flames jerseys and you can not miss it.
Parking adjacent to the Saddledome is expensive and very slow to leave after the game. Park in or around 17th Ave and walk over if you give yourself enough time. Way easier exit.
CTrain serves Victoria Park/Stampede Station; travel within the downtown Free Fare Zone is free.
Food & Drinks
Alberta beef burgers at the Saddledome are the real deal, Calgary ranching culture shows up in the arena food.
The named craft brewery on the concourse is Banded Peak, at its own Craft Nacho Stand in section 213. Big Rock may still be on tap elsewhere, but the arena names only Banded Peak.
The Red Mile has better food and drink at lower prices. Eat pregame if you can.
Seating
Use the online 3D seat viewer before buying tickets. The Saddledome has some quirky sightlines in certain spots and the virtual map can help you avoid surprises.

Know Before You Go
- Bag policy
Small bags and purses up to 14 x 14 x 6 inches may enter through a yellow small-bag entry.
Diaper bags and medically necessary bags are allowed through a yellow entry and receive a physical bag search. All guests pass through a metal detector unless a medical exemption requires a physical pat-down.
- Gate opening
Doors open 90 minutes before puck drop for Calgary Flames games.
The venue recommends arriving early to allow time for screening.
- Venue payments
Scotiabank Saddledome is cashless at concessions, retail locations, and 50/50 ticket sellers.
Accepted methods are debit cards, credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and venue gift cards. Cash cannot be exchanged for a gift card at the arena on game day.
- Re-entry
Guests may not exit and re-enter Scotiabank Saddledome during sporting or non-sporting events.
