The Forks or Exchange District
Visit The Forks for food and drinks or the Exchange District for craft beer and restaurants. Both are within walking distance (or indoor pedway).
Pregame on Portage
The bars along Portage Avenue and in the True North Square complex fill with Jets fans in white. The energy builds early.
Doors open
Enter Canada Life Centre. The building is small and intimate, every seat feels close to the ice.
The Whiteout begins
Wear white. Seriously. The Winnipeg Whiteout is one of the most iconic fan traditions in hockey. The entire building turns white.
Game time
Three 20-minute periods. 15,321 fans making the noise of 20,000. The Jets' crowd is relentless and hockey-smart.
Hit the concourse
Grab poutine or perogies with a Fort Garry draft. The concourse is compact, lines move fast.
Portage Avenue nightlife
The bars on Portage and in the Exchange District stay open. Bundle up for the walk or use the pedway system.

Don't walk around outside between stops in Winnipeg during winter. Explore in the summer - the museum of Human Rights is cool but needs time to see. For the arena, there is enough food and drink inside to keep you busy.
Winnipeg is one of the coldest cities in the NHL. In January, expect -30°C (-22°F) with wind chill. Use the pedway system.
Canada Life Centre is the smallest arena in the NHL (15,321). It's also the loudest per capita. The intimacy is unmatched.
Winnipeg winters are extreme. Dress for -30°C and use the downtown skywalk system where possible.
The Forks market district (10 min walk) is Winnipeg's premier dining and entertainment destination.
Wear white. The Winnipeg Whiteout is sacred, the entire arena turns white for playoff games and big rivalry nights.
