The Bell Centre serves Quebec classics alongside standard arena fare. Poutine, the real deal with fresh cheese curds and gravy, is the signature item. Montreal smoked meat sandwiches (think pastrami's French-Canadian cousin) are excellent. Molson, brewed in Montreal since 1786, is the house beer. The surrounding downtown has some of the best restaurants in North America, Montreal's culinary scene rivals any city. Prices reflect the premium Canadian market, especially for a hockey-mad city. The M2 Marche Montreal Loto-Quebec market names its eight counters: HABSburger for gourmet hamburgers, HABSdog for signature hot dogs, Habs Deli for smoked meat sandwiches and subs, Chquick Chquick for poutine, Pizza Pizza Trattoria for thin-crust pizza, Mito for sushi and poke bowls, CHOPA for gourmet bowls with pita, and Sna'QC for snacks, alongside a bar with sixteen taps.

Quebec microbreweries are world-class. Try Dieu du Ciel!, Unibroue, or Brasserie McAuslan on tap.
Molson Canadian is brewed in Montreal. Drinking one at a Habs game is a Canadian rite of passage.
The poutine at the Bell Centre uses real cheese curds. It's legit Quebec poutine, not impostor gravy fries.
Montreal smoked meat is different from NYC pastrami, more peppery, leaner, served on rye with mustard. Try it.
Montreal dining is among the best in North America. Make reservations if eating at a sit-down restaurant before the game.
Schwartz's Deli is a 15-minute walk from the arena. Go before the game, the line moves fast.
