What to Expect

The Bell Centre is the cathedral of hockey. With 21,105 seats, it's the largest arena in the NHL, and the Canadiens fill it with the most passionate, knowledgeable fans in the sport. Located in downtown Montreal between Rue de la Montagne and Rue de la Gauchetière, the arena is surrounded by restaurants, bars, and the city's famed underground city (RÉSO). Montreal's hockey culture is unmatched, the CH logo is a civic religion. Plan to arrive 60–90 minutes early. The atmosphere builds from the moment you enter the metro.

Tips & Fan Reports

Go as early as you can and walk every level of the building. It is full of fascinating Canadiens history. The atmosphere at the Bell Centre is something every hockey fan should experience at least once.

HabsHistoryBuff

Take the metro to Lucien-L'Allier station - there is more signage and a shorter passage to the arena. Bonaventure is closer if you want to enter from outdoors along Avenue des Canadiens and see the statues.

MontrealMetro

Backpacks are not allowed inside the Bell Centre and there is no bag check. Purses are fine but they will be examined. Plan accordingly.

BellCentreRules

Event parking opens at noon, long before the 90-minute door, so the garage is not the constraint.

Studded tires are barred year-round, worth knowing in a Montreal winter.

These figures are estimates. Most venues no longer publish the numbers behind them — concession and ticket pricing moved to dynamic marketplaces — so we hold them as estimates rather than dating them as verified.

  • Ticket prices — Secondary market averages (SeatGeek/StubHub)
  • Parking prices — Never checked against a published rate: the venue's parking page, read 2026-09-05, publishes none — the arena's own garage publishes a weekday rate and an event range, C$20 to C$49 depending on the event, and no Canadiens-game figure. The 2026-07-27 figures were compiled from third-party listings (was: "Bell Centre 2026: the arena's own structure under the building charges C$29 for Canadiens games; the 1225 Saint-Antoine lot is $20 on non-event days").
