Madison Square Garden is directly above Penn Station, which makes it the most transit-connected venue in this data by a wide margin: eight subway lines stop beneath it or a block away, PATH arrives from New Jersey, and both LIRR and NJ Transit terminate in the building. Driving is not covered at all.

Even if the Knicks are bad the Garden is always a cool place to go. Pregame a little bit since drinks inside are insane but the atmosphere makes up for it. Take the subway - do not drive to MSG.

- The Garden sits directly above Penn Station. Take the 1, 2, 3, A, C or E to 34th Street/Penn Station, or the B, D, F, M, N, Q or R to 34th Street/Herald Square and walk one block west. PATH trains from New Jersey stop at 33rd Street and Avenue of the Americas. From Grand Central, take the Shuttle or the 7 to Times Square then transfer downtown to a 1, 2 or 3. MTA buses M4, M10, M16, M34 and Q32 stop at 7th Avenue and Penn Station. LIRR and NJ Transit both run into Penn Station beneath the arena.
- Rideshare
- Uber/Lyft drop-off is on 8th Avenue near the main entrance. Post-game pickup is extremely congested. Walk at least 2-3 blocks away for faster pickup and lower surge pricing.
- Walking
- From 34th Street/Herald Square it is one block west to the Garden; from Penn Station you are already underneath it.

MTA subway and local bus: "The fare is $3 for most riders", weekly cap $35. Commuter rail inside the city is the CityTicket, and MTA states it plainly: "For travel on one railroad within New York City without changing directions, a one-way CityTicket costs $5.25 for off-peak trains and $7.25 for peak trains." Games are evenings and weekends, so off-peak $5.25 is the game-day fare. The stored entry bundled two or three railroads into one line, which cannot carry one fare: NJ Transit publishes no static table and quotes per trip, and Amtrak prices dynamically.
