Kansas City is a BBQ city, and Kauffman Stadium delivers — Joe's KC has its own right-field stand for the Z-Man, the Brisketacho stacks brisket nachos in a helmet at four sections, and Pasquantino's slings Italian beef at 208. Boulevard Brewing runs Craft & Draft and its own seltzer stand, and the value menu keeps hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn and even beer at $5 or less across eight sections. But the real food experience is in the parking lot tailgate.
Tips & Fan Reports
Brisket nachos in the helmet are all around the stadium and are a Kauffman staple. Get there early and walk through the Royals Hall of Fame in left field. The outfield concourse past the fountains is beautiful.
Joe's KC now has a stand in right field — grab the Z-Man with crispy onion rings without leaving the park (the gas-station original on 47th is still worth a pilgrimage).
Boulevard Wheat is KC's flagship beer. Accept no substitutes.
Concession prices at the K are among the cheapest in MLB.
The BBQ inside the park is better than most ballpark food, but the lot BBQ is the real experience.
Baked beans are the essential side with any BBQ order.
Burnt ends are THE Kansas City food. Get them inside or smoke your own in the tailgate.
