Petco Park's contracted parking includes Padres Parkade, Lexus Premier and Tailgate Park, all cashless. Advance parking sales close four hours before the event. Tailgate Park is the only permitted tailgating area, on a limited basis immediately behind the vehicle.

What fans who park here actually do, and what it cost them.
I prefer the parking structure that gives quick access to the 163 freeway for leaving. Valet parking across the street from the stadium is $80 and totally worth it if you don't want to deal with traffic.
MTS has three Trolley stations within two blocks: 12th and Imperial, Park and Market, and Gaslamp Quarter.
The Gaslamp Quarter north of the ballpark offers bars and restaurants.

Parking Rules
What the pass covers, what gets turned away, and the lots that run on their own rules.
Your Pass
- Buy your pass early. Parking cannot be purchased within four hours of the event. Leave it late and you cannot buy at all, which is a different problem from arriving to a full lot.
- All Ace Parking garages and lots open at least two hours before the scheduled start.
- The Padres Parkade, Tailgate Park and the Lexus Premier Lot open within four hours of the event.
- Park 12 Valet opens two and a half hours before the game, and its entrance is on 12th Avenue alongside the MTS Trolley line.
Accessible Parking
Accessible parking has its own garage immediately beside the ballpark, the 6th and K Parkade on the west side, at a published rate well below the general garages. It is not reservable, so arrive early.

- The rate is $15, subject to change, and spaces go first come, first served.
- Every surface lot and garage in the Petco Park Parking and Access Plan meets or exceeds the federal requirement to reserve 1% of spaces for guests with disabilities.
Getting There
Petco Park sits at the hub of San Diego's transit network and the Padres write like they know it: all three MTS Trolley lines reach the ballpark, three stations sit within two blocks of it, trains run at least every 15 minutes during games and lay on extra service after most night games. The ballpark district is under continued development, so the club actively steers fans away from driving.
- Driving
- Four major thoroughfares feed downtown from every direction (Pacific Highway, Interstate 5, State Route 163 and State Route 94, the Martin Luther King Freeway) and eight freeway on- and off-ramps serve the area immediately around the ballpark. Choose a lot by the direction you will leave in rather than the way you arrive. Tailgate Park is entered from 13th Street at K Street, or Imperial Avenue between 12th and 14th; the Padres Parkade garage is entered on 10th Avenue.
- Public Transit
- All three MTS Trolley lines plus select bus routes run direct to the ballpark. Three Trolley stations are within two blocks: 12th and Imperial, Park and Market, and the Gaslamp Quarter Station at Fifth Avenue and Harbor Drive. Service runs every 15 minutes or better during most game times, with enhanced service after most night games, and MTS free Park & Ride lots along the Trolley and Rapid routes feed in. Fares take contactless card or mobile wallet at the station validator, or the PRONTO app.
- Rideshare
- The designated rideshare and taxi loading zone for Petco Park is on Harbor Drive at Park Boulevard, across the street from the Bayfront Hilton Hotel next to the Convention Center. The Padres encourage fans to be dropped off and picked up there and to cross to the ballpark on the pedestrian sky bridge.
- Walking
- The Harbor Drive footbridge carries you from the Convention Center parking facilities to the ballpark on foot.
