Petco Park Accessibility Guide

Petco Park's cheapest ticket is not a seat. Gallagher Square, beyond right-centre field, is a lawn that fills up on game days with sightlines to the field and the game on the Sycuan Stage — and on non-game days it reverts to a public park that hosts concerts and a holiday market. The premium end is concentrated behind the plate, where the Blue Shield Home Plate Club sits between the dugouts and the Gallagher Chairman's Club sits beside the ownership suite. In-seat delivery through the MLB Ballpark app works in the premium areas and the Terrace Level.

Tips & Fan Reports

In-seat delivery through the MLB Ballpark app covers the Blue Shield Home Plate Club, First Base VIP Box, Lexus Club, Cutwater Coronado Club and the Terrace Level — not the upper deck.

VYT Research

Gallagher Square is a lawn, not a seating section — the cheapest admission at Petco, with a partial view through right-centre and the game on the Sycuan Stage. It fills up, so arrive early.

VYT Research

The Blue Shield Home Plate Club was rebuilt before the 2023 season, so older reviews of it are out of date.

VYT Research

On non-game days Gallagher Square is a public park, which is why it feels like one during a game.

Where to Sit

Every tier in the building, what it costs, and what you give up to sit there.

Gallagher Chairman's Club

$250 - $600+

Most expensive tier

Beside the Padres ownership suite, behind home plate — one of the best views in the ballpark.

Pros

  • All-inclusive premium food and beverage
  • Behind the plate, on the axis of the at-bat

Cons

  • Behind the plate means looking through the backstop netting

Blue Shield Home Plate Club

$180 - $450+

Directly behind home plate, inside the line of the first and third base dugouts.

Pros

  • The closest seats to the plate in the ballpark
  • Upgraded before the 2023 season, so the fit-out is recent
  • In-seat delivery through the MLB Ballpark app

Cons

  • Netting covers the whole area behind the plate

Home Plate Premier

$100 - $280

The lower bowl around home plate and the infield, level with the field.

Pros

  • Lower-bowl proximity without club pricing
  • The best ordinary angle on an at-bat

Cons

  • Inside the netted zone

Lexus Club

$120 - $300

A club ring above the lower bowl with its own space behind the seats.

Pros

  • Club service and in-seat delivery through the Ballpark app
  • Elevated enough to see the whole field

Cons

  • Priced above the lower bowl for a higher seat
  • The club access is much of what you are buying

Field Reserved

$55 - $160

The lower bowl out past the bases toward the corners, level with the field.

Pros

  • Lower-level seats at well under infield prices
  • Outside the netted zone behind the plate

Cons

  • Angled across the diamond rather than into it
  • Little shade in a park with a lot of sun

Terrace (200-Level)

$30 - $95

The middle deck, set back with the whole field and the San Diego skyline beyond it.

Pros

  • In-seat delivery through the Ballpark app reaches this level, unlike the upper deck
  • The full-field view for well under lower-bowl money

Cons

  • Far enough up that faces stop being faces
  • A climb from the main concourse

Toyota Terrace / Gallagher Square

$20 - $70

Beyond right-centre field, looking in through the gap toward the infield, with the game also playing on the Sycuan Stage.

Pros

  • The cheapest way into Petco Park
  • A lawn rather than a seat, with room to move about
  • A standing deck flanked by palm trees at the beach-themed end

Cons

  • No seat, and the field sightline is partial — through right-centre rather than at it
  • It fills up, so arriving late means standing at the back

Upper Level (300-Level)

$15 - $45

Cheapest tier

The top deck, high over the field with downtown San Diego and the bay beyond.

Pros

  • The cheapest reserved seat in the park
  • The widest view of the ballpark and the city

Cons

  • Steep, and a long way from the field
  • In-seat app delivery does not reach this level

San Diego Padres Seat Comfort

Padded seat cushions and compact binoculars for the upper deck.

These figures are estimates. Most venues no longer publish the numbers behind them — concession and ticket pricing moved to dynamic marketplaces — so we hold them as estimates rather than dating them as verified.
