Know Before You Go
- Bag policy
Clutch or wristlet bags smaller than 4.5 x 6.5 inches are permitted at Hurricanes games and do not use the X-ray line.
Parenting and medical bags are permitted after X-ray screening and tagging; parenting bags must be accompanied by a child.
- Bag storage
Guests with a prohibited bag are normally asked to return it to their vehicle before entering.
For Hurricanes games, a guest who arrived by rideshare may use an X-ray screening line instead; the venue warns that this can add 20 minutes or more.
- Gate opening
Doors normally open 60 minutes before weeknight Hurricanes games and 90 minutes before Saturday and Sunday games.
Select games may differ, so check the game-day email sent to the ticket purchaser for the specific opening time.
- Mobile tickets
Lenovo Center uses mobile-only ticketing for Hurricanes games; access tickets in the Hurricanes app, Ticketmaster app, or Caniac Account Manager.
Printed tickets are not accepted.
- Re-entry
Lenovo Center does not permit exit and re-entry, including for smoking.
- Prohibited items
Prohibited items include oversized bags and backpacks, bottles and liquid containers, outside food and alcohol, fireworks and projectiles, recording equipment, tobacco and vape products, weapons, large chains, lasers, aerosol cans, noisemakers, large signs, and motorized two-wheel devices.
All guests are subject to search, and refusing a lawful search is grounds for denied admission.
- First aid
The REX Healthcare First Aid Station is on the Main Concourse adjacent to Section 111.
The station is staffed by REX Healthcare employees.
- Nursing and lactation
Breast pumps are typically admitted as medically necessary items after X-ray screening and tagging.
- Family restrooms
Accessible family restrooms for a guest and attendant are adjacent to Sections 111, 128, and 333.
- Tickets for children
Every guest age 24 months or older needs a valid event ticket to enter Lenovo Center.
Some events require a ticket for every guest regardless of age.
- Guest services
Guest Services is on the Main Concourse across from Section 127 during events.
Contact Guest Services before the event for accessibility questions or other assistance.
- Service animals
Service animals assisting guests with disabilities are welcome at Lenovo Center.
Contact the venue as early as possible if a service animal may require a seating relocation.
- Smoking and vaping
Lenovo Center is smoke- and tobacco-free, including electronic cigarettes, and no outside smoking areas are available.
Game Day Timeline
What the day looks like at Lenovo Center, hour by hour.
Set up the tailgate
Lenovo Center lots open early. Claim a spot, fire up the grill, and join the growing crowd of Caniacs in the fairgrounds lots.
Tailgate peaks
The lots fill up with cornhole, grills, and Hurricanes flags. This is one of the few NHL arenas with a real tailgating culture.
Head inside
Doors open 90 minutes before the game. Enter through the Town Fair gate area to catch warm-ups and grab arena food.
Storm Surge energy builds
Find your seat and soak in the pregame atmosphere. The DJ and crowd energy make PNC one of the loudest buildings in the league.
Game time
Three 20-minute periods with two intermissions. The Caniacs are loud. When the Hurricanes score, the siren and celebration are electric.
Hit the concourse
Grab a pulled pork sandwich or a local craft beer. Lines are manageable at the smaller concession stands on the upper level.
Storm Surge (if they win)
Stay for the Storm Surge, the team's post-win celebration is unique in the NHL and the crowd loves it. Then head to Glenwood South for late-night options.
Tips & Fan Reports
Lenovo Center is one of the few NHL arenas with legitimate tailgating. Take advantage of the parking lot culture.
Lenovo Center is near NC State campus, not downtown Raleigh. Plan for a 15-20 min drive from downtown hotels.
The Storm Surge post-win celebration is worth staying for. Don't leave early.
Tailgating in the Lenovo Center lots is more common than you'd expect for an NHL team. Arrive early.
The Bunch of Jerks identity (from Don Cherry's comments) has become a badge of honor. The fans lean into it.
Buy the mobile parking pass before the day; it costs less than on arrival.
A clutch under 4.5 by 6.5 inches skips the X-ray queue entirely, the single fastest way in.
A clear bag is permitted here but still has to go through the machine, so it is slower than the small clutch.
You do not pick your space. Staff direct you, so a group in several cars should arrive together.
Before the Game
Lenovo Center's bag rule has a useful shortcut built into it: a clutch or wristlet under 4.5 by 6.5 inches skips the X-ray line entirely, while clear bags, parenting bags and medical bags are permitted but must go through the machine. General parking enters at Gates A, B, E and F with staff directing you to a space, and the arena asks for an hour's margin before the event to clear the traffic. Mobile parking passes are cheaper bought before the day through ParkWhiz. The lots are reached from I-40 or Wade Avenue via the Edwards Mill Road exit.

Pregame Rules
What Lenovo Center allows before the game, and what it does not.
- Clutch and wristlet bags smaller than 4.5" x 6.5" are permitted and are not required to enter via the bag X-ray line.
- Clear bags, parenting bags and medical bags are permitted but must pass through the X-ray machine prior to entry.
- For general parking, guests may enter Gates A, B, E and F, and parking staff will direct vehicles to available spaces.
- Mobile parking passes are cheaper when purchased before the day of the event, through ParkWhiz.
- Guests are recommended to arrive one hour before the event start time to avoid traffic congestion and delays.
- To reach the parking lots from I-40 or Wade Avenue, exit at Edwards Mill Road and travel south; the main entrance is on the left.
- The arena is approximately a 10 to 15 minute drive from Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

Lenovo Center is indoor, so these are the conditions for the parking lot and the walk in, not the seats.
Across the NHL season the warmest month is October, with an average high of 73°F, and the coldest is January, when the average low is 32°F. March is the wettest month at 4.2 inches and November the driest at 3.5 inches.
