Set up the tailgate

PNC Arena lots open early. Claim a spot, fire up the grill, and join the growing crowd of Caniacs in the fairgrounds lots.

2 hours before puck drop

Tailgate peaks

The lots fill up with cornhole, grills, and Hurricanes flags. This is one of the few NHL arenas with a real tailgating culture.

1 hour before puck drop

Head inside

Doors open 90 minutes before the game. Enter through the Town Fair gate area to catch warm-ups and grab arena food.

30 minutes before puck drop

Storm Surge energy builds

Find your seat and soak in the pregame atmosphere. The DJ and crowd energy make PNC one of the loudest buildings in the league.

Game time

Three 20-minute periods with two intermissions. The Caniacs are loud. When the Hurricanes score, the siren and celebration are electric.

Hit the concourse

Grab a pulled pork sandwich or a local craft beer. Lines are manageable at the smaller concession stands on the upper level.

Post-game

Storm Surge (if they win)

Stay for the Storm Surge, the team's post-win celebration is unique in the NHL and the crowd loves it. Then head to Glenwood South for late-night options.
