What to Expect
MetLife Stadium sits in the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, just across the Hudson River from New York City. On Giants game days, the stadium transforms into a sea of blue, red, and white. The Giants share MetLife with the Jets, but Giants game days have a distinctly different feel: more traditional, more family-oriented, and rooted in one of the NFL's oldest and most storied franchises. Multi-generational families who have held season tickets since the old Giants Stadium days form the backbone of the fanbase. The tailgating is spirited but measured, the crowd is knowledgeable, and the expectation level is high. This is a franchise with four Super Bowl titles.

Game Day
Season ticket holder for 12 years. Best thing to do is have a great tailgate outside, go in full because the food is meh. Prepare for a 30-minute walk from the lot to your seats.
Allow enough time to park, set up your grill (charcoal takes longer than propane), cook and pack so you can get through security and in your seats before kickoff. Lots open 5 hours before kickoff.
A vehicle over 18 feet long or 8 feet wide cannot use a lined space, so an RV or long van needs a different plan entirely.
Parking & Directions
Buy your parking pass online on Ticketmaster - Gold or Platinum only. Do NOT buy on StubHub, they will sell you a shuttle pass from some bar outside the stadium and you will have to fight for a refund.
We used to park and tailgate but switched to taking the NJ Transit shuttle - it's a lot more fun and you don't have to deal with the parking lot exodus after the game.
Park further from the stadium if you want an easier time leaving. Same price to park in the garage but no tailgating is allowed in the garage and you miss the whole pregame vibe.
Food & Drinks
Bring your own food and drinks for the parking lot pregame. Sandwiches, a cooler of beer - that's how most MetLife regulars do it. Stadium food is overpriced and mediocre.
The MetLife 50 Club offers all-inclusive premium dining with a curated menu, worth the splurge.
The Italian sausage with peppers and onions is the must-have MetLife food, a New York tradition regardless of which team is playing.
Seating
Suites here run 12 to 30 seats and sit on four different levels, so 'suite' covers a wide range of heights and prices.
Club lounges are unusually elaborate: on-field patios, a post-game interview room, a brick pizza oven and fireplaces among them.
MetLife has five premium clubs (the EY Coaches Club, Corona Beach Club, Miller Lite MVP Club, Moody's Commissioners Club and MetLife 50 Club) sharing over 130,000 square feet and more than 10,000 club seats.
Know Before You Go
- Bag policy
Each guest may bring one clear bag no larger than 12 x 6 x 12 inches, one small non-clear bag no larger than 4.5 x 6.5 inches, or a one-gallon clear freezer bag.
Medically necessary items are allowed after inspection at a designated gate.
- Gate opening
MetLife Stadium gates normally open two hours before kickoff for Giants games.
Confirm the time on the specific game page because event details can override the general schedule.

MetLife Stadium is cash-free and accepts major credit and debit cards plus Apple Pay and Google Pay.
No-fee reverse ATMs convert cash to a prepaid debit card at MetLife West Hall and Sections 118, 128, 149, 220a, 245, 322, and 347.
- Re-entry
MetLife Stadium does not permit guests to leave and re-enter during Giants games.
