What to Expect

Raymond James Stadium is home to one of the most distinctive features in all of professional sports, a 103-foot, 43-ton pirate ship anchored in the north end zone. When the Bucs score, the ship's cannons fire and the crew raises the Jolly Roger flag, creating a uniquely Tampa Bay game-day moment. The stadium sits in north Tampa near Dale Mabry Highway, separate from the downtown core but surrounded by a thriving tailgate culture. Tampa's year-round warm weather means outdoor football here is a sun-soaked, Caribbean-tinged party. The Krewe culture, Tampa's pirate heritage from the annual Gasparilla festival, infuses the entire game-day experience with a swashbuckling spirit unique in the NFL.

Tips & Fan Reports

Sections 206-215 are your best bet for shade. Get as far back in the section as possible. It also has the benefit of being club seating so you can go into the AC to cool off.

Section218Lifer

Get there 4-5 hours before kickoff. Find field parking down the road and tailgate with the Krewe till kickoff. The grass lots have the best tailgate scene.

BucsKrewe

Download the Buccaneers app - you can mobile order food from select stands inside the stadium and skip the lines. The refillable popcorn bucket is the best value in there.

RayJayRegular

For an authentic Tampa experience, park in the neighborhood southeast of Raymond James (east of Himes Ave, north of Columbus). Locals are friendly - a bit of Spanish helps.

Uber/Lyft drops off at Steinbrenner Field across Dale Mabry. There is an overpass walkway to cross. Have them drop you at Miller's Ale House if you don't want to sit in traffic for 20 minutes getting closer.

TampaUberTip

Try to get a VIP parking lot pass - usually $30-40. Buy ASAP because they sell out. You get on the road way faster after the game compared to general lots.

FireTheCannons

If you have club tickets the gates open an hour before the regular gates. Go early, check out the team store, grab food and drinks before the rush. The club level AC is a lifesaver for early season games.

ClubLevelBucs

The stadium names no bus or streetcar route anywhere on its site; HART's own map is the place to plan that.

VYT Research

Every lot is cashless, so there is no paying at the gate with notes.

You get one 10 by 24 foot spot per party and cannot save a space, so a group in several cars needs to arrive together.

These figures are estimates. Most venues no longer publish the numbers behind them — concession and ticket pricing moved to dynamic marketplaces — so we hold them as estimates rather than dating them as verified.

  • Parking prices — Never checked against a published rate: the venue's parking page, read 2026-09-05, publishes none — parking is first-come on event day, cashless, and priced per event on the event page, with no figure on the parking page. The 2026-07-27 figures were compiled from third-party listings (was: "Raymond James Stadium 2026: event parking $25, first come first served; nearby residence lots $16-$20").
