What to Expect
Capital One Arena sits in the Penn Quarter/Chinatown neighborhood of downtown Washington, DC, surrounded by restaurants, bars, and the National Mall attractions. The arena is directly above the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro station, one of the most transit-accessible venues in pro sports. The pregame scene centers on the Chinatown/Penn Quarter restaurant corridor along 7th Street. DC's professional crowd means a more subdued but knowledgeable fan atmosphere. Plan to arrive 60-90 minutes early to explore the neighborhood and watch warm-ups.

Tips & Fan Reports
If you have a Capital One card it opens 15 minutes before the main entrance and saves you 10% on concessions at the arena. Flash your credit card to the people at the entrance.
Capital One Arena is in Chinatown so parking is tough. Find a good garage ahead of time and book it. Pregame before you enter since drinks inside are expensive and do not bring a bag.
All digital tickets now so make sure your phone is charged. If you are buying from a scalper outside they electronically transfer the ticket to you. There are no more paper tickets.
Take no bag. The arena's limit is a 4 by 6 inch wallet-size clutch, which rules out most things people carry by default.
The Michelob Ultra Club on the 200 level is all-inclusive: food, soft drinks, beer and wine are covered by the ticket.
A medical or parenting bag has its own door — the corner of 6th and F Street — rather than any gate.
Judiciary Square and Metro Center are the fallbacks if Gallery Place is congested.
Doors open an hour before the event, so the hour before that belongs to the neighbourhood.
Expect your car to be searched on the way into the Lexus Garage, so leave time for it.
The Players Club on the Suite Level is the most restricted room in the building, with all-inclusive fine dining.

These figures are estimates. Most venues no longer publish the numbers behind them — concession and ticket pricing moved to dynamic marketplaces — so we hold them as estimates rather than dating them as verified.
- Ticket prices — Secondary market averages (SeatGeek/StubHub)
- Parking prices — Never checked against a published rate: the venue's parking page, read 2026-09-05, publishes none — the page sells parking per event through SpotHero and prices nothing. The 2026-07-27 figures were compiled from third-party listings (was: "Capital One Arena 2026: $20-$40 by proximity and event, prepaid online recommended").
