Travel
Overview
Tropicana Field is in downtown St. Petersburg, on the west side of Tampa Bay. Most visiting fans stay in Tampa and cross the Howard Frankland Bridge (I-275), about a 30-minute drive without traffic, but 45-60+ minutes on game days. St. Pete itself is an easy drive with the stadium visible from I-275. Public transit options are limited compared to northeastern cities, most fans drive or rideshare. The SunRunner bus rapid transit connects St. Pete Beach to downtown with stops near the Trop.

“Consider staying in St. Pete instead of Tampa, walkable to the dome, and the downtown restaurant/brewery scene is excellent.”
“The Cross-Bay Ferry from Tampa to St. Pete (seasonal) avoids bridge traffic and is a scenic way to get to the game.”
“Street parking in the neighborhoods around the Trop is free and abundant for weeknight games.”
“Post-game traffic clearing from the Trop area is faster than most MLB parks. The stadium area empties in 15-20 minutes.”
