PNC Park Parking & Directions

PNC Park publishes the most complete arrival guidance of any venue in this data, and its distinguishing feature is that every driving route comes with its own after-the-game exit route: the Pirates document how to leave as carefully as how to arrive. The other half is the free T: Port Authority light rail costs nothing within downtown, and the North Side station is diagonally across General Robinson Street from the Home Plate entrance.

Driving

Routes are published by direction, each paired with a way out. From the north on I-279 South, Exit 2B reaches the NOVA Place or North Shore garages and Exit 1B the Red 5 garage and Red Lots 7A to 7D; leaving, use the HOV at Lacock and Anderson Streets, or the 4th-floor speed ramp. From the north on Rte 28 South, exit at East Ohio St for NOVA Place or Lacock St for the Blue 10 North Shore garage. From the south and west through the Fort Pitt Tunnels, Exit 70A reaches the Boulevard of the Allies garages and Exit 71A Grant Street and the First Side, Oliver or Mellon Square garages; leave via the Stanwix Street or Grant Street ramps. From the east on I-376 West, Exit 72B reaches Crosstown Blvd (I-579) and 7th Ave, and Exits 71A and 71B the First Side garage. After the game from the east, the Pirates suggest avoiding downtown by taking Second Ave eastbound to enter I-376 at Bates St.

Public Transit

Port Authority's Light Rail, the T, is free within downtown. It links the Golden Triangle stations to the North Side station, which sits diagonally across General Robinson Street from the Home Plate entrance, and separately links the Allegheny station on the North Shore to that same North Side station. Coming from the South Hills, park at a T station (there are over 1,900 spaces) and ride in, getting off at Wood Street or Gateway Center. The First Side garage connects directly to the First Avenue T station from its third floor. On the bus, Port Authority runs more than 50 routes into downtown, and the 33X West Busway-All Stops serves the Carnegie, Bell, Crafton and Sheraden stations.

Rideshare

Rideshare pickup and drop-off for Pirates games is allowed in only two places: Isabelle Street directly east of PNC Park, and the eastbound section of Reedsdale Street west of PNC Park, between the Gold 1 slip ramp and the Gold 1 Garage HOV exit.

Walking

From downtown, walk across the Andy Warhol Bridge on 7th Street to the ballpark, the standard approach from the Wood Street and Gateway Center T stations.
