What to Expect
Daikin Park sits at the eastern edge of downtown Houston, a retractable-roof ballpark that keeps the brutal Texas heat and humidity at bay while preserving the open-air feel on mild evenings. The park opened in 2000 and has hosted three World Series championships (2017, 2022, 2023). The Crawford Boxes in left field are the most iconic seats in the park, short porch, high energy, and where Astros home runs land. The train on the left-field wall runs when the Astros hit a homer. Pregame, the EaDo (East Downtown) neighborhood has exploded with breweries, taquerias, and bars within walking distance.

Game Day
The best part of the game-day tour is sitting out in right field after the tour watching Astros batting practice. Totally worth doing once if you have never been to Minute Maid before.
Gates open two hours out with full access, so arriving early means going inside rather than waiting outside.
Downtown parking around the ballpark is the practical option, since none of it supports a pregame setup.

Look for public-parking signs with a baseball P.
Some downtown restaurants and hotels allow paying customers to leave their cars during the game.
All Astros-owned lots are cashless; single-game passes come from Lot C, bought with your ticket.
Food & Drinks
The fajita nachos from El Tiempo are the best deal for food inside Minute Maid. Centerfield area first and second level is a great hangout spot. Check out 8th Wonder Brewery before the game - about a 10-15 minute walk from the park.
The 18-hour smoked brisket at the Butcher stands is the must-eat item at Daikin Park. Go during batting practice, the line wraps by the 2nd inning.
Karbach Love Street is the local craft beer of choice: the Love Street Bar at Section 119 and the Karbach Bar at 404 pour it on draft.
Seating
I usually get between rows 3 and 5 right at first base. You can peer inside the Astros dugout from there. Good Tex-Mex and margs at the nearby restaurants plus you don't have to pay for parking if you eat there.
The roof means the ballpark is air-conditioned when closed. For a summer day game that matters more than which section you pick.
The Honda Club Level concourse keeps a clear view of the field from several points, so you can queue for food without missing an at-bat.

Bags may not exceed 16 x 16 x 8 inches and are inspected at every gate; backpacks are prohibited.
Within the size limit, possible backpack exceptions include diaper bags, single-compartment drawstring bags, and bags used for medical reasons. Soft-sided coolers within the size limit are allowed, while hard-sided and foam coolers are prohibited.

Daikin Park gates open two hours before game time unless the Astros announce otherwise.
