What to Expect
Lambeau Field is hallowed ground for football fans. Home to the Packers since 1957, this is the NFL's most iconic stadium, the Frozen Tundra, site of the Ice Bowl, and the spiritual home of professional football. The Packers are the only community-owned team in the NFL, and that pride radiates through everything on game day. Green Bay is the smallest market in the league, which makes the tailgating scene feel like a massive neighborhood block party. The Titletown District development adjacent to the stadium offers restaurants, shops, and activities before the game.

Game Day
Bring corrugated cardboard or rent stadium seat cushions. The aluminum benches at Lambeau will freeze your backside off in late season games. Layers on the bottom matter more than the top.
Leave plenty early. You want to be at Lambeau about 2 hours before kickoff, earlier if you want parking closer to the stadium. The highways back up fast.
Shell out the $60 to park in the lot right across from Lambeau. Everyone tailgates there and it is great. The less you have to walk the more you have to pay. Lawn parking for $20 is not too far though.
Parking & Directions
Park on the street in the residential neighborhoods near Lambeau and walk. Locals are friendly and it's a religious experience walking to the stadium with other fans.
Park at the Green Bay Plaza and take the free Lambeau Leap bus. Saves money and avoids the post-game parking lot nightmare.
If coming up I-43, Denmark has a brand new hotel and is only a 20-minute drive to Lambeau. Local country bars have Friday fish frys and some offer cheap shuttles to the game.
Food & Drinks
Some bars near Lambeau give you free parking and then hand you a restaurant gift card for the amount when the game ends. You warm up, eat pizza, and wait for traffic to clear.
Brats are non-negotiable at Lambeau. Get one inside or outside, just make sure you eat one.
Spotted Cow from New Glarus Brewing is only available in Wisconsin. Drink it while you can.
Seating
Seats are tight at Lambeau, especially when it gets cold and everyone is wearing bulky clothing. I prefer about 15 rows up between the 40s on the Packers sideline. High enough to see everything but still close.
Club seats are the only cushioned, climate-controlled option, and they are season products with a waiting list of roughly a decade.
The bleacher configuration is original to the 1957 build, so no amount of renovation has changed it in the general bowl.
Know Before You Go
- Bag policy
Permitted bags include a clear bag no larger than 12 x 6 x 12 inches, a one-gallon clear freezer bag, and a non-clear bag no larger than 4.5 x 6.5 inches.
The small non-clear bag may be carried with an approved clear bag; all belongings remain subject to screening.
- Gate opening
All Lambeau Field stadium gates open two hours before kickoff.
The Atrium has separate earlier access rules for ticketed guests, which vary for afternoon and evening games.
- Venue payments
Lambeau Field is cashless at concessions, retail, the ticket office, and other venue points of sale.
Credit, debit, and contactless payments are accepted; free cash-to-card conversion stations are available at the American Family Insurance Gate lobby, Atrium floor, and Titletown's 46 Below.
- Re-entry
There is no exit and re-entry for afternoon games; evening games allow a limited pregame Atrium exit only when the ticket is exit-scanned at the American Family Insurance Gate between six and four hours before kickoff.
Leaving outside that evening window, or leaving without the required exit scan, invalidates re-entry.
