What to Expect
Golden 1 Center is the crown jewel of downtown Sacramento, anchoring the DOCO (Downtown Commons) entertainment district. Opened in 2016, it's one of the newest and most technologically advanced arenas in the NBA. Sacramento is known as America's Farm-to-Fork Capital, and the arena's food program reflects that with local, seasonal ingredients from Central Valley farms. The Kings fan base is one of the most loyal in the NBA. This city fought hard to keep its team, and the energy at Golden 1 Center shows it.

Game Day
They have a cardboard cutout example of the allowed bag size at the entrance. Check the website before you go because they will make you go back to your car if your bag is too large.
Parking is the City of Sacramento's, bought through SacPark rather than the arena.
Three named pedestrian walkways lead in; light rail stops within a block of all of them.
Parking & Directions
Park in the Downtown Plaza West garage at 3rd and L Street. Tell the attendant you are going to the movies and you will not get charged the Golden 1 Center event rate. This is the worst kept secret in Sacramento.
SacRT light rail has several stations within a block of the arena; the fare is $2.50.
Garages open two hours before tipoff and passes remain valid until two hours after.
Food & Drinks
The stand list names no tri-tip. The Sacramento restaurants inside are the draw instead: Centro, Paragary's, Selland's, Cafe Bernardo, Porchetta House and Star Ginger all run their own counters.
Sacramento brewery craft beers are worth the upcharge over domestics.
Golden 1 Center has some of the best arena food in the NBA. Don't skip it.
Seating
Any seat is a good seat at Golden 1 Center. If you are on a budget go for an upper level sideline seat. The sight lines are great and it is one of the best arenas in the NBA even up top.
RUSH by Sire Spirits and ASSEMBLY by Crown Royal share one private 360-degree central bar between them.
Premium here is three categories (Suites, Lofts and Clubs) and the arena publishes capacities for none of them.
Know Before You Go
- Bag policy
Backpacks are prohibited, and other bags must not exceed 8 x 6 x 1 inches.
Medical bags must be searched and tagged by a security supervisor. Baby bags up to 16 x 16 x 8 inches, plastic bottles, and formula are permitted.
- Gate opening
Golden 1 Center doors open 90 minutes before tipoff for Sacramento Kings games.
- Venue payments
Golden 1 Center is cashless and accepts major chip cards, contactless tap-to-pay, and payment-enabled mobile or wearable devices.
The arena does not offer cash-to-card kiosks.
- Re-entry
Golden 1 Center normally prohibits re-entry, but guests with a personal emergency or a prohibited item to return must first arrange an exception with a Security Supervisor or Manager through Guest Services.
