Know Before You Go
- Bag policy
Bags and purses are prohibited; permitted clutches may be no larger than 4 x 6 x 2 inches.
Diaper and medical bags up to 14 x 14 x 6 inches are allowed and must be X-rayed at Door 5, the northeast main entrance.
- Gate opening
Doors are scheduled to open 90 minutes before Jazz home games.
Check the specific event listing before travel because the published time is a standard schedule.
- Mobile tickets
All Delta Center tickets are digital; no paper tickets are used for entry.
Tickets can be managed, accessed, transferred, or sold through the Delta Center or Utah Jazz app; SeatGeek is the official ticketing partner.
- Re-entry
Re-entry is prohibited at Utah Jazz home games.
- Prohibited items
Prohibited items include noncompliant bags, aerosols, recording devices, signs, projectiles, bottles and cans, coolers, drones, weapons, fireworks, flasks, flashlights, illegal substances, lasers, pepper spray, noisemakers, professional cameras, outside food or drink, poles, umbrellas, strollers, and tripods.
The list is not exhaustive, and management may reject other items it considers inappropriate.
- First aid
The First Aid Station is on the Main Level near Portal L, with trained EMTs available during events.
For assistance, contact Guest Services or Event Security or text 801-901-8111.
- Nursing and lactation
Six Cozy Earth Mother's Rooms are on the Main Concourse near Doors 1 and 7 and on Level 5 next to the Sensory Room.
The rooms include seating, TVs, sinks, and full-length mirrors.
- Family restrooms
Family restrooms are on the Main Level by Portals G and T, the Terrace Level by Portals CC and QQ, and the Club Level in the Toyota Club.
Baby-changing stations are in all family restrooms and most men's and women's restrooms.
- Tickets for children
Children younger than 24 months may enter free if they share a seat with a ticketed adult; children 24 months and older need a ticket.
- Guest services
Guest Services desks are at Door 4/Portal Y on the Main Level and Portal CC on the Terrace Level/Upper Bowl.
Report conduct or safety concerns to arena staff or text SOS DELTA to 848-261. The non-event-day arena number is 801-325-2000.
- Service animals
Trained service animals and service animals in training are welcome in public arena areas; pets are prohibited.
Service animals must remain leashed unless a required task prevents it, and handlers are responsible for cleanup and damage.
- Smoking and vaping
Delta Center is smoke-free, but guests may use the designated outdoor smoking area beyond Door 9 on the Main Level.
E-cigarettes are prohibited inside and allowed only in the designated area, at least 25 feet from the building.
Game Day Timeline
What the day looks like at Delta Center, hour by hour.
Arrive in downtown SLC
Take TRAX to the Arena station or park in the arena lots. Explore the Gateway outdoor mall and the surrounding restaurants.
Pregame dining
Grab dinner at Blue Iguana, Red Rock Brewing, or one of the Main Street restaurants. Utah's food scene has come a long way.
Doors open
Enter the arena and explore the concourse. The Jazz team store has the iconic purple mountain jerseys. Grab a fry sauce burger.
Find your seat
Settle in for the Jazz's intro. The Wasatch mountain backdrop on the video boards sets the tone.
Game time
Jazz fans are passionate and vocal, the arena gets loud for big moments. Utah's high altitude (4,226 feet) gives a slight edge to the home team. Total game time is about 2-2.5 hours.
Halftime break
Hit the concourse for Utah craft beer or a Navajo taco. The concession lines move efficiently.
Post-game scene
Walk to Main Street for bars and restaurants. SLC's downtown bar scene has expanded significantly and stays open until 1 AM.
Tips & Fan Reports
TRAX light rail stops right at the arena, easier than parking.
Utah's altitude (4,226 feet) means drink water and pace yourself on alcohol, similar effect to Denver.
The Gateway Mall next to the arena has restaurants and a movie theater for a full evening out.
Utah liquor laws: arena beer is full strength (5% ABV). Bars require food purchase for some drinks. No double pours.
TRAX light rail is free in the downtown zone - you can ride it from anywhere in downtown SLC to the arena for $0.
Utah is a 3.2% ABW beer state for draft - some fans prefer to pregame at The Beerhive or Fisher Brewing before heading in.
A permitted diaper or medical bag has to enter at Door 5. It is the only door with an X-ray.
TRAX is free within the Free Fare Downtown Zone, which reaches the arena, so the train costs nothing.
The clutch limit is 4 by 6 by 2 inches, which is smaller than most phones-plus-wallet combinations. Travel with nothing if you can.
There is no arena lot and no published tailgating policy; the pregame is downtown Salt Lake City.
Before the Game
Delta Center has no surface lot and publishes no tailgating policy, so a Jazz pregame is downtown Salt Lake City rather than a parking space, and UTA TRAX makes that easy, running free as long as you enter and exit inside the Free Fare Downtown Zone. The thing to sort before leaving is the bag. Bags including purses are refused outright; clutches are allowed only up to 4 by 6 by 2 inches, and diaper or medical bags up to 14 by 14 by 6. If you are carrying either of the permitted larger bags, you have to enter at Door 5 on the northeast corner, because that is the only door with an X-ray machine.
Where to Go Before the Game

Light rail into downtown Salt Lake City, and free if you both enter and exit within the Free Fare Downtown Zone, which covers the arena, making the train the cheapest way in.
