Know Before You Go
- Bag policy
Each guest may bring one soft-sided bag up to 16 x 16 x 8 inches and one smaller soft-sided personal item.
All bags and personal items are inspected and must fit in the size-check bins without assistance or adjustment; hard-sided bags and containers are prohibited.
- Bag storage
Yankee Stadium has no storage area for prohibited bags or other items.
- Gate opening
All Yankee Stadium gates open 90 minutes before the scheduled start of Yankees home games.
Times may change for weather, special events, doubleheaders, Opening Day, Old-Timers' Day, postseason play, or management discretion.
- Mobile tickets
All Yankee Stadium tickets are delivered digitally through the MLB Ballpark app for display on a mobile device.
Screenshots are not valid; add tickets to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet before arrival for access without cellular service.
- Re-entry
Guests may not leave Yankee Stadium and return on the same ticket except in an emergency.
For an emergency, speak with security personnel before exiting.
- Prohibited items
Yankee Stadium prohibits weapons, fireworks, drones, alcohol, illegal drugs, oversize or hard-sided bags, glass or cans, laptops, bats, laser pens, and professional recording equipment.
Aerosols, noisemakers, selfie sticks, mono- or tripods, recreational vehicles, masks or costumes, projectiles, balloons, flowers, confetti, and glitter are also prohibited; review the official list before arrival.
- First aid
First-aid stations are at Sections 128, 221, and 320C on the Field, Main, and Terrace/Grandstand Levels.
For medical help, notify security or the nearest Yankee Stadium Team Member or go to a first-aid station.
- Nursing and lactation
A private nursing room in the Kids Clubhouse has lounge chairs and power outlets and is available subject to capacity.
Nursing is also permitted in any public location where the parent is comfortable.
- Family restrooms
Family restrooms are available on the Field, Main, Terrace/Grandstand, Delta SKY360 Suite, and Bleachers levels.
All regular and accessible restrooms are equipped with baby-changing tables; check the official guide for the section nearest your seat.
- Tickets for children
A child who is both age 3 or younger and under 30 inches tall does not need a ticket.
The child must sit on an adult's lap without blocking another guest's view; other events may use a different policy.
- Guest services
Guest Relations Booths are adjacent to Gate 6 in the Great Hall and at Sections 128 and 320C.

- Service animals
Service animals accompanying guests with disabilities are permitted in Yankee Stadium.
For an animal relief break, visit security in the Yankee Stadium Lobby by Gate 2 before exiting; approved guests must re-enter through that lobby.
- Smoking and vaping
Smoking, electronic cigarettes, and smokeless tobacco are prohibited throughout Yankee Stadium.
There are no designated smoking areas, and re-entry is prohibited.
Game Day Timeline
What the day looks like at Yankee Stadium, hour by hour.
Arrive in the Bronx
Take the 4 train to 161st Street or drive to one of the parking garages. The bars along River Avenue are already filling with fans in pinstripes.
Pregame on River Avenue
Stan's Sports Bar and Billy's Sports Bar are the classic pregame spots. Grab a beer and soak in the energy on the street outside the ballpark.
Enter through the Great Hall
Walk through the massive limestone facade and the Great Hall, the largest open-air space in any U.S. sports venue. Check out the championship banners and bronze plaques.
Watch batting practice
Head to the outfield sections to watch BP. Bring a glove, fly balls regularly reach the stands during practice.
Find your seat
The Stadium fills in waves. Settle into your seat and watch the grounds crew prep the infield. The video board runs highlights and lineup announcements.
Play ball
Nine innings of baseball in the Bronx. The Roll Call in the bleachers starts from the first pitch, Bleacher Creatures chant each starter's name until they acknowledge the fans.
Stand up and stretch
The crowd sings 'Take Me Out to the Ball Game' followed by 'God Bless America.' Grab a final round of food and drinks before the late innings.
Exit into the Bronx night
Head back to River Avenue for a postgame beer or walk straight to the 161st Street subway. The crowd thins quickly, the Bronx empties fast after the final out.
Tips & Fan Reports
Show up early and hit Monument Park. They close it around the 3rd inning so don't wait. The bleachers in sections 202-203 are where the Bleacher Creatures do the roll call in the top of the 1st. Even without bleacher tickets you can stand nearby and join in.
The earlier you get there the shorter your wait time. Always. Gate 2 is almost always less busy than Gate 4. If you have Field MVP seats or better use the private entrance to the left of Gate 4 and skip the long line.
The Bleacher Creatures in Section 203 are legendary. They do the Roll Call every game. Sit there for the most intense fan experience.
Take the subway, the 4/B/D to 161st Street drops you right at the front door. Driving into the Bronx on game night is painful.
Stan's Sports Bar across the street on River Ave is the classic pregame spot. Cash only, cheap beer, pure Bronx.
Food lines are longest in the 3rd and 4th innings. Buy during BP or after the 5th inning for shorter waits.

Monument Park (center field) closes 45 min before first pitch. Enter early if you want to see the Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig plaques.
Soft-sided backpacks are allowed here, unlike most ballparks: the limit is 16x16x8 and it must drop into the size-check bin unaided.
No tailgating policy exists because none of the parking is the Yankees' to set rules for.
Before the Game
The Yankees do not own or operate any of the parking around Yankee Stadium: prepaid single-game parking comes from City Parking, and the club publishes no tailgating policy, so nothing here is set up for a lot-based pregame. What matters instead is entry timing and what you can carry. Gates 6 and 8 open two hours before every home game while every other gate, including Babe Ruth Plaza and the suite entrance, opens 90 minutes before. The bag allowance is more generous than most: one soft-sided bag up to 16 by 16 by 8 inches plus one smaller personal item, and soft-sided backpacks within that size are fine.
