Tips & Fan Reports
Bring warm clothes and extra layers. It will get chilly especially for a night game. Public transit is very easy and stops right in front of the stadium. Gates open 90-120 minutes before the game.
Oracle Park food is among the best in MLB. Crazy Crab'z, Ghirardelli sundaes, and local craft beer are all worth trying.
Garlic fries are the iconic Oracle Park food, the smell alone is part of the experience.
McCovey Cove (beyond right field) has kayakers waiting for splash hit home runs. Visible from the waterfront promenade.
Bring layers, San Francisco is cold and windy even in summer. Night games regularly drop into the low 50s.
The SF Bay Ferry from Oakland runs on game days and docks right at the park. The most scenic way to arrive.
Weekend gates open a half hour earlier than weekday ones.
Tailgating is Lots A and C only, and explicitly not at either Pier or One Bryant.
No backpack, clear or otherwise. Any other bag under 16x16x8 is fine and does not need to be see-through.
You cannot pay at the gate — every Giants lot needs a SpotHero reservation bought ahead, ADA placard holders included.
Before the Game
Oracle Park permits informal tailgating in Lots A and C, in the area immediately around your own vehicle and without spilling into another space or a drive aisle. It is specifically not permitted at Pier 48, Pier 30/32 or One Bryant. Every Giants-controlled lot and garage requires a pre-purchased SpotHero reservation — including fans with a valid ADA placard, which is unusual and worth knowing before you drive down. Gates open 90 minutes before a weekday game and two hours at weekends. Backpacks are refused, clear ones included, though any other bag under 16 by 16 by 8 inches is fine, and paid storage sits at the Marina Gate behind centre field.
