What to Expect
The Delta Center sits on the western edge of downtown Salt Lake City, adjacent to the Gateway shopping district. The Utah Mammoth are the NHL's newest franchise, relocated from Arizona in 2024 and named by a fan vote in May 2025 after one season as Utah Hockey Club, and Salt Lake City has embraced the team with enormous enthusiasm. The arena was renovated for hockey, and the fan base has been building rapidly. Salt Lake is at 4,226 feet elevation, not as extreme as Denver but visitors should hydrate. The Wasatch Mountains visible from downtown add a stunning backdrop to the game-day experience.

City Creek Center is free for the first 2 hours and then $2 each additional hour. It is three blocks from the Delta Center and usually costs about $6 per game. Plenty of space.
Club seats have all the food and drinks you want. Regular price is $350-450 but on TickPick they can drop to $150 for less popular games. Definitely someone lost money on those but your gain.
First season so the arena is still figuring things out. TRAX light rail stop is right by the main entrance same as for Jazz games. The atmosphere is building - give it time.
There is no arena lot and no published tailgating policy; the pregame is downtown Salt Lake City.
The arena publishes no driving route at all; its parking guidance points at Park Place, the Gateway Mall and City Creek Mall.
TRAX is free within the Free Fare Downtown Zone, which reaches the arena, so the train costs nothing.
Seven clubs serve the building — Delta Sky360, Entrata, Black Desert, Interform, Toyota, Gallagher and the Aptive Lofts — and open bars vary between them, so the inclusions are not uniform.
The Utah Mammoth are brand new to the NHL, the fan energy is off the charts as the city builds its hockey identity.
The clutch limit is 4 by 6 by 2 inches, which is smaller than most phones-plus-wallet combinations. Travel with nothing if you can.
Delta Center's seats physically move between sports. A new seating system installed in the renovation handles a nearly 12-foot difference in elevation between the rink endline and the court endline, so a section's position is not the same for hockey as for basketball.
