State Farm Stadium rises from the desert landscape in Glendale, Arizona, a retractable-roof marvel that keeps fans comfortable in the extreme desert heat while providing an open-air option on those rare perfect weather days. The stadium is adjacent to the Westgate Entertainment District, a sprawling complex of restaurants, bars, and shops that serves as the pregame hub for Cardinals fans. The retractable roof and roll-out grass field make State Farm Stadium one of the most technologically advanced venues in the NFL. The interior is climate-controlled at approximately 72°F when the roof is closed, providing relief from Arizona's punishing heat. Game days in Glendale blend desert sun, Mexican-influenced cuisine, and a growing fanbase hungry for a championship.

Game Day
Bring a disposable cooler full of beer and exchange them with friendly tailgaters for food they are grilling. You meet different people, don't have to haul a grill, and the cooler gets tossed before you go in.
Buy a tent/shade canopy if you are tailgating before November. You will absolutely need it. Tailgating opens 4 hours prior to kickoff on the Great Lawn at State Farm Stadium.
Enter the stadium an hour before kickoff. The food trucks past security have Yellowman Fry Bread and other vendors you can bring inside. Westgate next door has everything for pregaming.
Parking & Directions
Drive to the AMC at Westgate and park there. It is way easier to get out than the stadium lots. You can also Uber from Scottsdale but that is a 30-minute ride with game day traffic, probably more.
Buy a parking pass from scalpers on Camelback and Indian School Road on the way to the stadium. It's a common thing - just negotiate.
Shade tents at Sportsman's Park must fit the permitted 10 by 10 foot footprint on the grass.
Food & Drinks
Plan on spending a lot if you buy food, drinks, or gear inside State Farm Stadium. Eat before the game if you're on a budget - Bruster's Real Ice Cream is right by the Blue Parking lot.
The Sonoran hot dog is the must-try item, bacon-wrapped with beans, onions, mustard, and jalapeño sauce. It's an Arizona institution.
Four Peaks Kilt Lifter is the local craft beer to try. It's brewed in nearby Tempe and is Arizona's most popular craft beer.
Seating
Avoid section 437 and the sections around it when the roof is open - you will get blasted with sun and everyone leaves those sections for half the game. Home side 200s sections are much better.
The Casita Garden Club sits at field level feet from the home locker room, an access product rather than a sightline one.
Field Boxes use the Monaco Dream Seat, which the Cardinals bill as the most spacious seat in professional sports.
Know Before You Go
- Bag policy
One clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bag no larger than 12 x 6 x 12 inches, a one-gallon clear freezer bag, and a small clutch no larger than 4.5 x 6.5 inches are permitted.
Medical exceptions are allowed after inspection; diaper bags are prohibited, so diapers and wipes must be carried in an approved clear bag.
- Gate opening
Check the specific Cardinals game listing for gate times: the general team guide lists main gates at 90 minutes before kickoff, but published event timelines can differ.
Club gates, the Flight Deck, and premium spaces commonly open before the main gates.
- Venue payments
State Farm Stadium is fully cashless for Cardinals games, with contactless cards and mobile wallets accepted at fixed points of sale.
Cash-to-card machines are near Sections 104, 123, and 416 and at the office entrance next to the box office.
- Re-entry
Guests may not leave State Farm Stadium and re-enter with the same game ticket; the Cardinals publish no exceptions to this rule.
