There's no traditional parking-lot tailgating at Capital One Arena, the arena is in an urban setting without dedicated tailgating lots. Wizards fans gather at Penn Quarter / 7th Street Corridor and surrounding bars and restaurants for the pregame scene. The energy builds as game time approaches, with fans filling the streets and plazas near the arena. Check the team's website for recommended pregame spots and any official fan events.

Tailgating Protocol
No grills, coolers, or tailgating setups are permitted in parking garages or structures near Capital One Arena.
Outside alcohol is not allowed in public plazas or the arena grounds.
The arena's clear bag policy applies at all entry gates.
No re-entry. Once you leave Capital One Arena, you cannot return.
Follow all posted rules in parking garages; they are for vehicle parking only.
Strategic Zones
Penn Quarter / 7th Street Corridor
The restaurant-dense stretch of 7th Street NW between the arena and the National Mall. Sports bars, upscale restaurants, and quick-service options packed into a few blocks.
Chinatown (H Street NW)
The Chinatown neighborhood surrounding the arena has a mix of Asian restaurants, ramen shops, and sports bars. The Friendship Archway is a landmark.
National Mall (Pre-game Walk)
The National Mall and monuments are a 10-minute walk south of the arena. For visitors, combining a daytime Mall visit with an evening Wizards game is a perfect DC day.
