What to Expect
Toyota Center is in downtown Houston's east side, near Discovery Green park and the George R. Brown Convention Center. The arena has been the Rockets' home since 2003. Houston is a sprawling, car-centric city, but the arena is accessible via METRORail light rail. The East Downtown (EaDo) neighborhood surrounding the arena has become a vibrant bar and restaurant scene. Houston's heat and humidity are a factor. Even October games require planning for the outdoor walk. NBA games run about 2.5 hours.

If you go about an hour early you can sometimes find free street parking near Toyota Center. Use the side entrance across from the Rockets parking garage instead of the main one - way faster entry.
Get Club seats in the East or West club if you can. The food is better in there. Doors open 1 hour before tip-off on weekdays and sometimes earlier on weekends.
How safe is the Red Line for games? Totally fine. Tons of people take it for Rockets games. Get off at the Bell station and you are right there. Way easier than driving in Houston traffic.
Five of the six published routes end the same way: south on Fannin Street to Leeland Street, then east to the garage.
From I-10 in either direction you first join another freeway; there is no direct exit.
Toyota Center's three lounges — Sire Spirits Social Club, Golden Nugget Club and Lexus Lounge — are sold through the Rockets' membership programme rather than as ordinary tickets.
A virtual seat-view tour is available, which is worth using given the sparse published section detail.
The bowl is a straightforward three rings: 100, a 200 mezzanine, and a 400 upper.
The arena names no METRO route or rail stop at all, so plan a car-free trip from the operator.
If you are carrying a bag you must use a designated bag entrance rather than the nearest door.
