There's no traditional parking-lot tailgating at TD Garden, the arena is in an urban setting without dedicated tailgating lots. Celtics fans gather at Canal Street Bars and surrounding bars and restaurants for the pregame scene. The energy builds as game time approaches, with fans filling the streets and plazas near the arena. Check the team's website for recommended pregame spots and any official fan events.

Tailgating Protocol
No grills, coolers, or tailgating setups are permitted in parking garages or structures near TD Garden.
Outside alcohol is not allowed in public plazas or the arena grounds.
The arena's clear bag policy applies at all entry gates.
No re-entry. Once you leave TD Garden, you cannot return.

Canal Street Bars
The row of sports bars on Canal Street between North Station and the Charles River. This is ground zero for Celtics pregame, packed, loud, and full of green jerseys on game nights.
North End (Hanover Street)
Boston's Italian neighborhood is a 10-minute walk from TD Garden. The best pregame dinner option in the city, pasta, pizza, and cannoli before you watch basketball.
Faneuil Hall / Quincy Market
The historic marketplace is a 10-minute walk south. More touristy but has a wide variety of food vendors and bars with game-night energy.
