Overview
There's no traditional parking-lot tailgating at Footprint Center, the arena is in an urban setting without dedicated tailgating lots. Suns fans gather at Heritage Square and surrounding bars and restaurants for the pregame scene. The energy builds as game time approaches, with fans filling the streets and plazas near the arena. Check the team's website for recommended pregame spots and any official fan events.
The Essentials
- Clear bag (per venue bag policy)
- Phone charger or portable battery
- Comfortable shoes
- Cash and cards for vendors
- Valid ID
- Small binoculars
- Noise-canceling earplugs
- Team gear or colors to wear
- Pocket-size hand sanitizer
- Travel pack of tissues
- Snacks (sealed, if venue allows)
- Layers for the walk to and from venue
- Light jacket (arenas can run cold inside)

Tailgating Protocol
No grills, coolers, or tailgating setups are permitted in parking garages or structures near Footprint Center.
Outside alcohol is not allowed in public plazas or the arena grounds.
The arena's clear bag policy applies at all entry gates.
No re-entry. Once you leave Footprint Center, you cannot return.
Follow all posted rules in parking garages; they are for vehicle parking only.
Strategic Zones
Heritage Square
Phoenix's historic district just north of the arena with restaurants, bars, and the Arizona Science Center. A popular pregame gathering spot.
Roosevelt Row (RoRo)
Phoenix's arts district with murals, galleries, bars, and restaurants. A few blocks north of the arena, great for a pregame stroll.
CityScape
Downtown Phoenix's main outdoor mall with restaurants and entertainment. A few blocks west of the arena.
