### Parking tips

- TRAX light rail is the stress-free option, the Arena station is a short walk from the Delta Center.
- Gateway Mall Garage at $8 is the best value within walking distance of the arena.
- SLC parking is among the cheapest in the NHL. Even arena lots are only $20.
- Downtown SLC is compact. If your hotel is downtown, just walk. Most downtown hotels are within a mile.
- Post-game traffic clears quickly. Salt Lake doesn't have the congestion of larger NHL cities.


## Seating

Delta Center was built for basketball and adapted for hockey, and the adaptation is mechanical rather than cosmetic: the rink endline sits nearly 12 feet below the court endline, and a seating system installed in the renovation moves to absorb the difference so every seat has a full view of the ice. Capacity for hockey is about 17,000 against nearly 19,000 for the Jazz. Seven clubs serve the building and their inclusions differ, so check which bar is open on yours.

## Getting There

The Delta Center's transit answer is a single sentence and it is the only one it needs: TRAX runs to every arena event and the stop is called Arena Station, directly across South Temple Street. Driving is the leg the arena does not document at all — it lists nearby lots and leaves the route to a mapping app.

**Driving.** The arena is at 301 South Temple. It publishes no driving route — no interstate, exit or approach appears on its maps or parking pages, which cover nearby lots instead: Park Place, the Gateway Mall and City Creek Mall among them.

**Public transit.** UTA TRAX runs to and from all arena events. Exit at Arena Station, on South Temple Street directly across from the Delta Center.

**Rideshare.** Uber/Lyft drop-off is on 300 West near the main entrance. Post-game pickup zones are marked. Expect short waits, SLC surge pricing is minimal.

**Walking.** Arena Station sits on South Temple Street directly across from the arena, so the walk from the platform is the width of one street.

## Tailgating

There is no tailgating question at Delta Center: the arena holds no surface lot and publishes no policy on it, so the hour before a game belongs to downtown Salt Lake City. Getting there is unusually cheap — UTA TRAX is free provided you enter and exit within the Free Fare Downtown Zone, which reaches the arena. What needs planning is the bag policy, which is tight even by arena standards. Purses and bags are refused, clutches are capped at 4 by 6 by 2 inches, and the diaper and medical bags that are permitted up to 14 by 14 by 6 must come in through Door 5 on the northeast corner, the only entrance with bag X-ray.

## Food & Drink

The Delta Center offers a mix of arena classics and regional specialties as the venue transitions from a basketball-only arena to a hockey home. Navajo tacos (fry bread) are the signature regional item, alongside Utah-brewed craft beers from Wasatch, Epic, and Uinta. SLC arena pricing is among the most affordable in the NHL. The surrounding Gateway district provides good pregame dining alternatives. The arena publishes concession maps rather than menus, and the Utah roster on them is the draw: Cupbop's Korean BBQ in a cup, J. Dawgs, Swig for dirty soda, Costa Vida, Iceberg Drive Inn, Cubby's, Salt City Smokehouse, Ikoma Sushi, Santorinis, Honest Acai and San Diablo artisan churros on the Main Concourse, with Proper Burger Co, Little Caesars, the Craft Shop and Casamigos Corner up on the Terrace. ## Game Day Timeline

The Delta Center sits on the western edge of downtown Salt Lake City, adjacent to the Gateway shopping district. The Utah Mammoth are the NHL's newest franchise, relocated from Arizona in 2024 and named by a fan vote in May 2025 after one season as Utah Hockey Club, and Salt Lake City has embraced the team with enormous enthusiasm. The arena was renovated for hockey, and the fan base has been building rapidly. Salt Lake is at 4,226 feet elevation, not as extreme as Denver but visitors should hydrate. The Wasatch Mountains visible from downtown add a stunning backdrop to the game-day experience.
