No rail transit - bus and car are primary options. Very affordable parking ($5-15 CAD). The Forks market area nearby for pregame. | Lot | Price | Distance | Notes | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Canada Life Centre Lots | $15 | 0.1-0.3 miles | Official lots at Canada Life Centre in downtown Winnipeg. | | Downtown Winnipeg Lots | $8 | 0.2-0.4 miles | Multiple lots in downtown Winnipeg. Very affordable. | ### Getting here without a car Not parking. These are transit fares, walks and drop-off points. | Option | Cost | Distance | Notes | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Winnipeg Transit | $3 | 0.2 miles from stop | Winnipeg Transit bus routes serve downtown. $3.15 CAD fare. | ### Parking tips - In winter (November through March), use a connected parkade. Walking even 3 blocks in Winnipeg cold is dangerous without proper gear. - True North Square Parkade has the best indoor connection. You literally walk from your car through a heated corridor to the arena. - Pre-purchase parking for all games, Jets sell out consistently and parking fills up. - Surface lots are fine for early-season and late-season games when temperatures are above freezing. - Post-game, the parkade exits to Portage Avenue. Traffic clears in about 20 minutes. ## Seating Canada Life Centre publishes less about its premium tier than almost any venue in this data. The one space it names is the Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Premium Suite Concourse, described as luxury seating and suite furnishings with exclusive access; beyond that, suites are offered per event with catering and enquiries go to the Premium Team. So the useful advice here is about the bowl rather than the clubs: three rings, centre ice at a clear premium over the corners, and prices in Canadian dollars. | Section | Price range | View | Pros | Cons | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Glass Seats | C$320 - C$1,000+ | | The players are physically at your eye line; Contact on the near boards lands in front of you | The most expensive Jets ticket; You see the least of the game from here — the near boards hide the far end | | Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Premium Suite Concourse | C$300 - C$900+ | The premium suite concourse, with luxury seating and suite furnishings. | The one premium space Canada Life Centre names publicly; Exclusive access to a dedicated concourse rather than the general one | No published capacity, level or inclusions; Enquiries go through the Premium Team rather than a ticket page | | Premium Suites | C$350 - C$1,100+ | Private suites, offered on a per-event basis. | Available per event rather than only as a season commitment; Catering services available with the suite | The venue publishes no capacities or locations; Sold for a group rather than as seats | | Club Level (200-Level) | C$95 - C$280 | | For hockey this height is where the systems become visible; Cheaper than the lower bowl for a more legible view of the game | Removed from the sound of the boards; What club access, if any, comes with it is not published | | Lower Bowl Center (100-Level) | C$190 - C$450 | | The best all-round hockey sightline in the arena; Centre ice, so neither end is favoured | A clear premium over the corner seats in the same ring; Play tight to the near boards is hidden below you | | Lower Bowl Corners (100-Level) | C$120 - C$320 | | Lower-bowl proximity at well under centre-ice money; The best angle on a power play working the near zone | The Jets attack the near end twice in three periods; Corner positions foreshorten the far half of the ice | | Upper Bowl (300-Level) | C$38 - C$120 | | The cheapest Jets ticket; The clearest view of a breakout and a forecheck developing | Steep, and a long way up; No premium access | Official seat map: https://www.canadalifecentre.ca/seating/ ## Getting There Canada Life Centre sits on Portage Avenue between Hargrave and Donald in downtown Winnipeg, and it publishes a route in from all five directions plus the airport — each one written to the corner of Donald Street and Portage Avenue, where the main entrance is. Winnipeg Transit reaches it with as many as 58 routes, which the arena splits into ones that always run and ones to confirm first. **Driving.** The arena is on Portage Avenue between Hargrave Street and Donald Street, with the main entrance at the corner of Donald and Portage. From the airport, go east on Wellington, right onto King Edward (Route 90 South), left onto Ellice Avenue and right onto Donald Street. From the west, Trans Canada Highway 1 East becomes Portage Avenue (Route 85 East) straight into downtown. From the south, Highway 75 becomes Pembina Highway (Route 42 North), which becomes Donald Street over the Donald Street Bridge, then left onto Portage Avenue. From the east, take Route 135 West to Dunkirk Drive (Route 62 North) through Osborne Street and Memorial Boulevard, then right onto Portage Avenue eastbound. From the north on the Perimeter Highway, turn south on Main Street (Route 52 South) then right onto Portage Avenue westbound. **Public transit.** Winnipeg Transit runs up to 58 routes serving the arena. The ones the arena lists as running for all events are Routes 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 33, 38, 44, 45, 47, 55, 60, 66, 160 and 162/170; a longer list of variable routes may not run at all times and should be confirmed before you travel. The arena publishes no stop name, so check winnipegtransit.com or call 311 for the stop and fares. **Rideshare.** Uber/Lyft or Unicity Taxi drop-off is on Hargrave Street near the arena entrance. Expect moderate waits after games. ### Transit options | Option | Price | Notes | | --- | --- | --- | | Winnipeg Transit Bus | $3.45 | Multiple bus routes serve downtown Winnipeg with stops near the arena on Portage Avenue and Graham Avenue | | DART (Downtown Rapid Transit) | $3.45 | Rapid bus transit along the southwest corridor with stops near the arena | | Rideshare / Taxi | $15 | Uber/Lyft or Unicity Taxi from surrounding neighborhoods, about 10-15 minutes | ## Before the Game Canada Life Centre's main entrance is on the corner of Donald Street and Portage Avenue in downtown Winnipeg, and there are three ways in: Gate 1 at Portage and Donald, Gate 3 at Graham and Hargrave, and Gate 6 via the Cityplace Skywalk — the last being the one that matters in a Winnipeg winter. X-ray screening is mandatory at all of them. Bags cap at 4 by 6 by 1.5 inches with medical, childcare and media exceptions. True North partners with Platinum Parking for over 1,700 bookable stalls, and more than 13,000 spaces sit within a ten-minute walk. ### Rules - Bag sizes are restricted to 4" x 6" x 1.5" or smaller, and undergo contactless security screening. - Exceptions are made for guests with medical and childcare or diaper bags, and for media. - Entry is at Gate 1 (Portage and Donald), Gate 3 (Graham and Hargrave), or Gate 6 via the Cityplace Skywalk. X-ray screening is mandatory. - The main entrance is on the corner of Donald Street and Portage Avenue. - True North Sports + Entertainment partners with Platinum Parking as preferred parking provider, with over 1,700 stalls bookable in advance. - Parking can be reserved through ParkMobile or ParkWhiz, neither of which requires downloading an app. - Over 13,000 parking spaces are in surface lots and parking structures within a ten-minute walk of the arena. - The arena publishes no tailgating policy. ### Best areas | Area | Description | | --- | --- | | Gate 6, the Cityplace Skywalk | The skywalk entrance into the arena, which connects through downtown Winnipeg's indoor walkway system — the way in that avoids the street entirely in winter. | | Gate 1, Portage Avenue and Donald Street | The main entrance, on the corner the arena addresses. From the Trans Canada, Highway 1 East becomes Portage Avenue and runs straight into downtown. | | Gate 3, Graham Avenue and Hargrave Street | The third entry point, on the opposite corner of the building from the main gate. | | The Platinum Parking stalls and downtown lots | True North partners with Platinum Parking for over 1,700 bookable stalls, with ParkMobile and ParkWhiz taking reservations without an app download. More than 13,000 spaces sit within a ten-minute walk. | ## Food & Drink Canada Life Centre serves up Winnipeg's comfort food, and it names its stands. Jumbo Jet Dog runs at seven locations plus the Atrium and also plates perogies and farmer sausage. Carvery Sandwiches at 111 and 310 slow-roasts beef brisket and a porchetta Cubano melt; Chefs Corner on the Event Level does mascarpone and ginger pickerel cakes. The Jets are Winnipeg's identity. When the franchise returned in 2011 after relocating from Atlanta, the city's joy was palpable and the sellout streak began immediately. The arena holds just 15,321, making it the smallest in the NHL, which creates the loudest per-capita atmosphere in the league. The Winnipeg Whiteout is legendary. The Forks (a gathering place at the river confluence) and the Exchange District provide pregame dining options. Winnipeg is brutally cold in winter, the indoor pedway system connecting parkades to the arena is essential. | Time | What happens | Detail | | --- | --- | --- | | 3 hours before puck drop | The Forks or Exchange District | Visit The Forks for food and drinks or the Exchange District for craft beer and restaurants. Both are within walking distance (or indoor pedway). | | 2 hours before puck drop | Pregame on Portage | The bars along Portage Avenue and in the True North Square complex fill with Jets fans in white. The energy builds early. | | 1 hour before puck drop | Doors open | Enter Canada Life Centre. The building is small and intimate, every seat feels close to the ice. | | 30 minutes before puck drop | The Whiteout begins | Wear white. Seriously. The Winnipeg Whiteout is one of the most iconic fan traditions in hockey. The entire building turns white. | | Puck drop | Game time | Three 20-minute periods. 15,321 fans making the noise of 20,000. The Jets' crowd is relentless and hockey-smart. | | First intermission | Hit the concourse | Grab poutine or perogies with a Fort Garry draft. The concourse is compact, lines move fast. | | Post-game | Portage Avenue nightlife | The bars on Portage and in the Exchange District stay open. Bundle up for the walk or use the pedway system. | ## Lodging | Hotel | Per night | Distance | | --- | --- | --- | | Radisson Hotel Winnipeg Downtown | $180 | 0.1 miles | | Alt Hotel Winnipeg | $180 | 0.1 miles | | Delta Hotels Winnipeg | $180 | 0.2 miles | | Hampton Inn by Hilton Winnipeg Downtown | $180 | 0.3 miles | | Humphry Inn & Suites, Downtown Winnipeg | $180 | 0.3 miles | ## Typical Weather | Month | High (F) | Low (F) | Precipitation | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | October | 52 | 32 | 1.8 inches | | November | 34 | 18 | 0.9 inches | | January | 13 | -5 | 0.5 inches | | March | 31 | 13 | 0.8 inches | | April | 50 | 29 | 1.1 inches | ## Verified Venue Policies ### Accessible entry Accessible drop-off and pick-up is available in the west lane of Donald Street beside Canada Life Centre.
