RTD light rail to Auraria West station. Official lots $20-30, nearby lots $8-15. Close to Auraria campus and LoHi neighborhood for pregame. | Lot | Price | Distance | Notes | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Ball Arena Lots | $35 | 0.1-0.3 miles | The Toyota-named lots around the arena, sold on arrival by credit card: the 4Runner and Elitch's lots at $35 and the Tundra at $40 for Nuggets and Avalanche games. Cash is taken only at the Tundra lot, and paying there by card takes $5 off. Lots open three hours before the event; advance passes are sold through Ticketmaster. | | Toyota RAV4 Lot (Premier) | $70 | Adjacent | The premier lot with the arena's closest spaces, $70 by credit card for Nuggets and Avalanche games. | | Auraria Campus / Speer Blvd Lots | $10 | 0.3-0.5 miles | Budget lots near Auraria campus and along Speer Boulevard. Short walk to arena. | ### Getting here without a car Not parking. These are transit fares, walks and drop-off points. | Option | Cost | Distance | Notes | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | RTD Light Rail | $2.75 | 0.3 miles from station | RTD light rail to Auraria West or Pepsi Center/Elitch Gardens stations, both walkable. Connects from downtown, suburbs, and DIA. | ### Parking tips - RTD light rail to Auraria West station is the easiest option, $3 and drops you at the arena. - Pre-purchase main lot parking online for marquee matchups. It sells out. - Rideshare drop-off is on Auraria Parkway. Expect moderate surge post-game. - If driving from I-25, take the Auraria Parkway / Colfax exit for direct arena access. - Post-game, the main lot can take 20+ minutes to clear. The Auraria lots exit faster. ## Seating Ball Arena is a five-level building: two ordinary seating rings at 100 and 300, a club level between them, and a floor whose front rows are sold as memberships rather than tickets. Courtside here means rows CS through CS3, and three separate products — UMB Reserve, Club Lexus and the Ford Champions Club — all sell into that band with their own entrances and all-inclusive food and drink. The arena holds 89 suites across two levels, 1,900 club seats and two Theatre Boxes. | Section | Price range | View | Pros | Cons | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Courtside / Floor Seats | $600 - $1,800+ | Floor level in rows CS, CS1, CS2 or CS3, close enough that the play comes past you rather than below you. | Sold as memberships — UMB Reserve and Club Lexus — that carry private entry and all-inclusive food, beer, wine and liquor; Upscale dining rather than concourse concessions | The most expensive way into the building by a wide margin; At floor level you lose the shape of the play that any elevated seat gives you | | Ford Champions Club | $700 - $2,000+ | Floor seats in sections CS110, CS116, CS134 and CS140, row CS4, just behind the courtside band. | All-inclusive food and beverage; Complimentary parking, which no other ticket here carries; Dedicated concierge service | Four sections and one row, so availability is genuinely scarce; Priced as hospitality, not as a seat | | Lower Level Sideline (100-Level) | $150 - $350 | The lower ring along the sidelines, looking across the court from the side the benches are on. | The best ordinary seats in the building for reading the whole floor; Close enough to hear the benches | The most expensive non-membership ticket; Front rows lose sight of the near baseline | | Lower Level Baseline (100-Level) | $75 - $175 | The lower ring behind the baskets, straight down the length of the floor. | Lower-bowl proximity for markedly less than the sideline; The best angle in the building on a shooter's release | Play at the far end is a long way off; The near basket blocks part of the floor | | Club Level (200-Level) | $70 - $250 | The middle ring, elevated over the lower bowl with the whole floor in frame. | Exclusive access to the Forget Me Not Lounge and Colorado Social; The full-court view without the lower bowl's price | One level removed from the noise of the lower bowl; Club amenities are what you are paying for as much as the sightline | | Theatre Boxes | $400 - $1,200+ | Two boxes only, seating four or six, set apart from the ordinary rows. | Plush seating for a fixed party of four or six; Additional standing-room tickets can be bought alongside; Access to all regular season and playoff games | There are exactly two in the building; Sold as a season product rather than a single game | | Upper Level (300-Level) | $20 - $65 | The top ring, high over the floor with the whole court and both benches laid out below. | The cheapest ticket in the arena; The clearest view of how a possession is actually organised | Steep, and far from the floor; No club access or in-seat service | Official seat map: https://www.ballarena.com/events-tickets/seating-charts/ ## Getting There Ball Arena has its own light rail station — Ball Arena/Elitch Gardens, on four RTD lines — which makes it one of the few venues in this data where the train goes to the building rather than near it. Driving is organised around Auraria Parkway and the numbered streets off it, and the lots open three hours before an event. **Driving.** From the south, take I-25 North toward Denver and exit at 210B for Auraria Parkway, merge onto Auraria Parkway, then turn left onto 7th, 9th or 11th Street to reach the arena grounds. From the north, take I-25 South, exit 212B toward downtown, turn left onto Speer Boulevard and right onto Chopper Circle at the second light. From downtown, head west on Speer Boulevard to Auraria Parkway, turn left, then right on 7th, 9th or 11th Street. **Public transit.** The Ball Arena/Elitch Gardens station is served by four light rail lines — D, E, H and W — and you can walk straight into the grounds from it. An RTD bus stop sits adjacent to the arena at 9th Street and Auraria Parkway, served by multiple routes. The free MallRide shuttle runs the 16th Street Mall, currently on 15th and 17th Streets during reconstruction, connecting to Union Station. **Rideshare.** Uber/Lyft drop-off is on Auraria Parkway, east side of the arena. Post-game surge is moderate. Walk toward LoDo for faster pickup. **Walking.** On foot the arena is reached by the multi-use Cherry Creek Trail and the shared-use sidewalk along Auraria Parkway. ### Transit options | Option | Price | Notes | | --- | --- | --- | | RTD Light Rail (Auraria West / Pepsi Center Station) | $2.75 | Light rail station adjacent to the arena on the W and E lines | | Rideshare (from Denver International Airport) | $45 | Uber/Lyft, ~35 min from DEN airport | | Rideshare (from LoDo/Union Station) | $10 | Uber/Lyft, ~5 min from downtown LoDo | ## Tailgating Ball Arena is one of the few arenas in either league where a tailgate is permitted at all — the venue's own wording is that tailgating is allowed, but not encouraged. What that means in practice is a tailgate without the two things that usually define one: open consumption of alcohol is prohibited across every Toyota parking lot, and charcoal grills and log fires are both banned, leaving propane under 20 lbs as the only fuel. There are no designated tailgating areas, so you work within the spaces you actually bought, and the lots are monitored throughout. They open three hours before tip-off and take cards. ### Rules - Tailgating is allowed, but not encouraged, outside Ball Arena. - There are no designated tailgating areas within the Toyota parking lots, and guests may occupy only the number of spaces they have purchased. - Saving spaces is not allowed, and all Toyota parking lots are monitored at all times during events. - Open consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in all Toyota parking lots surrounding Ball Arena. - Open fires using logs, and charcoal grills, are prohibited. Propane tanks must be less than 20 lbs. - Ball Arena parking lots open three hours prior to the start of the event. - Credit and debit cards are accepted at all Toyota Ball Arena parking lots for all events. ### Best areas | Area | Description | | --- | --- | | The Toyota parking lots | The lots surrounding the arena, named for Toyota models — Camry, Tundra, Rav4 and 4Runner. They open three hours before the event, take credit and debit cards, and are monitored throughout. There are no designated tailgating areas within them: you may occupy only the spaces you actually paid for. | | Camry, Tundra, Rav4 and 4Runner lots | The individually named lots around Ball Arena, each with accessible parking options. Which one your pass names decides where you end up, and saving a space in any of them for a friend is not allowed. | | The alcohol line | Open consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in every Toyota parking lot around the arena — the rule that most distinguishes this from a stadium tailgate, since the tailgate itself is permitted. | ## Food & Drink Ball Arena publishes a full A-Z of its stands, and the Colorado cooking is spread across them rather than concentrated in one place: Hatch green chili sausage and Polidori sausage at Colorado Social, spicy braised bison nachos and tacos at The Cantina, green chile chicken nachos and tacos beside them. Pepsi Test Kitchen runs a barbecue menu of ribs and smoked half chickens, Nola Jane brings gumbo, jambalaya and a debris po'boy, and Zero Wheat Street is a dedicated gluten-free stand with its own pizza and pasta. A $5 Fan Friendly menu runs across several counters. Denver's altitude makes hydration matter as much as the beer, and outside the arena LoDo has one of the best restaurant and brewery scenes in the country. ### $5 Classics (published by the venue) Available at every home game. | Item | Price | | --- | --- | | Hot Dog | $5 | | Popcorn | $5 | | Candy | $5 | | Soda | $5 | These are the venue's own figures. The prices elsewhere in this document are researched estimates of standard concession pricing. ### Nearby restaurants | Name | Cuisine | Price range | Rating | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | JINYA Ramen Bar - Union Station | Restaurant | $$ | 4.9 | | Corinne Denver | Restaurant | $$ | 4.8 | | Sam's No. 3 | Breakfast Restaurant | $ | 4.6 | | Tavernetta | Italian Restaurant | $$$ | 4.6 | | Linger | Restaurant | $$$ | 4.5 | | Holey Moley Golf Club Denver | Miniature Golf Course | $$ | 4.5 | | Downtown Aquarium | Aquarium | $$ | 4.3 | | Stout Street Social | American Restaurant | $$ | 4.3 | ## Game Day Timeline Ball Arena sits just west of downtown Denver, near the Auraria campus and the Platte River. The arena offers sweeping mountain views from the parking lots on clear days. Denver's Nuggets games have surged in popularity since the 2023 championship, the fanbase is passionate and growing. The pregame scene centers on the LoDo (Lower Downtown) bars and restaurants a short walk or rail ride from the arena. Plan to arrive 60-90 minutes early. Note: altitude matters, hydrate and pace yourself on the beer at 5,280 feet. | Time | What happens | Detail | | --- | --- | --- | | 3 hours before tip-off | Arrive in LoDo or at the arena | Take the RTD light rail to Auraria West station or park in the arena lots. Explore LoDo's restaurants and breweries. | | 2 hours before tip-off | Pregame dining | Grab dinner at Wynkoop Brewing, Euclid Hall, or one of the Dairy Block restaurants. Green chile everything is the Denver way. | | 1 hour before tip-off | Doors open | Enter the arena and explore the concourse. The Nuggets team store has championship gear from 2023. Grab a green chile cheeseburger. | | 30 minutes before tip-off | Find your seat | Settle in for the Nuggets' intro show and player introductions. The championship banner hangs in the rafters. | | Tip-off | Game time | Nuggets games have an energized, championship-confident atmosphere. The altitude advantage is real, visiting teams tire in the fourth quarter. Total game time is about 2-2.5 hours. | | Halftime | Halftime break | Hit the concourse for Colorado craft beer or Rocky Mountain nachos. The arena's craft beer selection is outstanding. | | Post-game | Post-game scene | Walk to LoDo or take light rail to Union Station for post-game bars and restaurants.
