## Parking

### Parking tips

- Take the subway. The 4/B/D to 161st Street is across the street. It's faster, cheaper, and less stressful than driving.

- The Major Deegan Expressway (I-87) backs up badly starting 90 minutes before first pitch. Budget extra time.
- Rideshare drop-off is on East 161st Street near Gate 6. Post-game pickup is chaotic. Walk a few blocks for faster service.
- Street parking in the surrounding Bronx neighborhoods is technically free but risky. Read all signs carefully.


## Seating

Yankee Stadium is priced in four plain rings — Field, Main, Terrace and Grandstand — with the premium product wrapped around the front of the lowest one. The Legends Suite is not a box: it is 1,800 seats across the twenty-five sections closest to the field, running from home plate down both baselines, sold all-inclusive. Everything with a name sits at the two extremes, the Legends Suite at the bottom and the Bleacher Creatures in Section 203 at the top.

## Getting There

Yankee Stadium's own guidance opens by saying mass transit is the best way to get there, and the station is named for the ballpark: 161st Street/Yankee Stadium, served by the 4 and the D, with the B added on weekdays only. Driving comes down to two exits off the Major Deegan.

**Driving.** The stadium is at One East 161st Street in the Bronx, reached from the Major Deegan Expressway (Interstate 87). Northbound on I-87, use Exit 4 for East 149th Street and the 145th Street Bridge, or Exit 5 for East 161st Street and the Macombs Dam Bridge. Southbound, use Exit 5. The Yankees suggest entering One East 161st Street into a GPS rather than the stadium name.

**Public transit.** The No. 4 train on the East Side and the D train on Sixth Avenue both stop at 161st Street/Yankee Stadium, on East 161st Street and River Avenue. B train service on Sixth Avenue also runs, but only on weekdays. Metro-North offers train service to the stadium from anywhere in its territory.

**Rideshare.** Uber/Lyft drop-off is on East 161st Street near Gate 6. Post-game pickup is chaotic. Walk a few blocks south on River Avenue or east on 161st for faster service and lower surge pricing. Expect 20-40 minutes from Midtown depending on traffic.

## Tailgating

The Yankees do not own or operate any of the parking around Yankee Stadium — prepaid single-game parking comes from City Parking — and the club publishes no tailgating policy, so nothing here is set up for a lot-based pregame. What matters instead is entry timing and what you can carry. Gates 6 and 8 open two hours before every home game while every other gate, including Babe Ruth Plaza and the suite entrance, opens 90 minutes before. The bag allowance is more generous than most: one soft-sided bag up to 16 by 16 by 8 inches plus one smaller personal item, and soft-sided backpacks within that size are fine.
