Famous for traffic. FREE Dodger Stadium Express bus from Union Station is the best option. Metro to Union Station, then express bus. Stadium lots $30-40. | Lot | Price | Distance | Notes | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Dodger Stadium Lots | $40 | 0.1-0.5 miles | Official lots at Dodger Stadium in Chavez Ravine. Large complex with multiple lots. | ### Getting here without a car Not parking. These are transit fares, walks and drop-off points. | Option | Cost | Distance | Notes | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Union Station + Dodger Stadium Express | $0 | Bus from Union Station | Free Dodger Stadium Express bus from Union Station. Best way to avoid traffic. | | Metro to Union Station | $2 | Bus to stadium | Take any Metro line to Union Station, then the free Dodger Stadium Express bus directly to the park. | ### Parking tips - Take the Dodger Stadium Express from Union Station. It's free, uses a dedicated lane, and avoids the worst traffic in MLB. - If you must drive, arrive at least 90 minutes early. The Chavez Ravine roads have limited capacity. - Post-game exit is the worst in baseball, 30-60 minutes to leave the parking lots. Stay after the game or take the shuttle. - Pre-purchase preferred parking for weekend and rivalry games. It sells out and the exit priority is worth it. - The Sunset Blvd and Stadium Way approaches are the main traffic arteries. Avoid the Elysian Park Drive entrance on weekend games. ## Seating Dodger Stadium is built into a hillside and its levels stack accordingly: Field, Loge, Reserve, Suite and Top Deck, with the Pavilions sitting apart from all of them beyond the outfield walls. Each level has its own entrance off its own parking terrace, which is unusual — at most parks you enter at the bottom and climb. Nine elevators serve the building and accessible seating exists on every level. | Section | Price range | View | Pros | Cons | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Dugout Club / Baseline Club | $250 - $600+ | The rows immediately behind home plate and down the lines, lower than the field-level concourse and level with the players. | The closest seats in the park to the plate; Club access and service rather than the general concourse | The most expensive ticket in the stadium; Behind the plate means looking through the backstop screen | | Field Level | $100 - $300 | The lowest full ring, level with the field, around the infield and down both lines. | Closest ordinary seats to the play; Drinkrail stools on this level give a standing-height view for people who would rather not sit in a row | The dearest of the four ordinary levels; Corner seats face across the diamond | | Loge Level | $60 - $200 | The second deck, high enough to see the whole infield as a shape and still close enough to read a swing. | The best balance of height and proximity in the park; Loge Party Boxes on this level are sold as group spaces rather than rows of seats | A deck removed from field-level atmosphere; Overhang cuts the sky from the back rows | | Loge Party Boxes | $90 - $250 | Boxed group areas set into the Loge Level, looking out over the infield. | A relaxed group space rather than a row of fixed seats; Loge-level sightline without sitting in the crowd | Sold as a box for a group, so it is the wrong ticket for one or two people; Priced above an ordinary Loge seat | | Reserve Level | $30 - $100 | The third deck, well up, with the whole field and the San Gabriel mountains beyond the outfield. | The classic Dodger Stadium view — field, palm trees and mountains in one frame; Genuinely cheap for a full-field sightline | Far enough up that individual players stop being distinguishable; A climb, though the level has its own parking-terrace entrance | | Top Deck (Upper Reserved) | $15 - $50 | The highest seats in the park, looking down on the whole bowl and out across Chavez Ravine. | A 1965 Japanese stone lantern sits on this level, moved to a prominent accessible spot in the recent upgrades | As far from the plate as the building goes; Steep, and exposed to afternoon sun | | Pavilion (Outfield) | $20 - $60 | Bench seating beyond the outfield walls in left and right, looking back in at the infield. | Among the cheapest ways into the park; The most animated crowd in the stadium | Benches rather than seats, and no shade; Set apart from the main bowl, so the rest of the stadium's concessions are not on your side | ## Getting There Dodger Stadium has no rail of its own, so the Dodgers run the connection themselves: the Dodger Stadium Express is free to any ticket holder and meets Metro at Union Station and in the South Bay. Driving is published by freeway AND by which gate each route delivers you to, with separate departure routes per gate — the club treats leaving as its own problem. **Driving.** Routes are published by freeway and by the gate they reach. From the 101 northbound, take the Grand Avenue exit, right onto Grand, right onto Temple Street, right onto Figueroa Street, left onto Sunset Boulevard and right onto Vin Scully Avenue for Gate A. From the 101 southbound out of Hollywood, take the Alvarado Street exit, left onto Alvarado, right onto Sunset Boulevard, then about a mile on and left onto Vin Scully Avenue for Gate A. The club publishes separate departure routes for the Downtown, Academy and Sunset gates. **Public transit.** The Dodger Stadium Express is free for all ticket holders and connects at Union Station and in the South Bay. Metro runs six rail lines across LA County that reach those connections: the A Line from Long Beach to Azusa via Union Station, the E Line from Santa Monica to East LA, the B Line from North Hollywood to Union Station, the D Line from Koreatown to Union Station, the C Line between Norwalk and Aviation/Century, meeting the A Line at Willowbrook Station, and the K Line from Expo/Crenshaw to Redondo Beach. Metrolink and Amtrak also reach Union Station. **Rideshare.** Uber/Lyft drop-off is at the designated rideshare zone near the center field entrance. Post-game pickup is extremely congested. Walk to the lower lot levels for faster service. Budget 20-40 minutes from downtown or Hollywood. ### Transit options | Option | Price | Notes | | --- | --- | --- | | Dodger Stadium Express (Free Shuttle) | $0 | Free shuttle from Union Station (Metro Red/Purple/Gold Lines) directly to Dodger Stadium on game days, the best way to avoid traffic | | LA Metro to Union Station + Express | $1.75 | Take any Metro line to Union Station, then catch the free Dodger Stadium Express shuttle to the ballpark | | Rideshare (from Hollywood/Downtown) | $25 | Uber/Lyft from Hollywood or downtown LA, 20-40 minutes depending on LA traffic, which is always unpredictable | ## Tailgating Tailgating is prohibited at Dodger Stadium, and the club states it twice over: fans should not consume food or alcoholic beverages in the stadium parking lots before, during or after a game, and the code of conduct separately bars tailgating or picnicking in any lot at any of those times. What the lots are for is arriving. Parking gates open two and a half hours before game time and stadium gates two hours, the speed limit inside the lots is 14 miles per hour, and the club pushes hard on buying parking in advance to keep the auto gates moving. ### Rules - Tailgating is prohibited. Fans should not consume food and alcoholic beverages in the stadium parking lots before, during or after a game. - Disorderly conduct, noise disturbances, tailgating and picnicking are prohibited in any of the parking lots before, during or after an event. - Parking gates open 2.5 hours before game time, and stadium gates open 2 hours before game time. - The speed limit in the parking lots is 14 miles per hour. - Fans are encouraged to purchase parking in advance to help traffic flow through the auto gates. ### Best areas | Area | Description | | --- | --- | | The general parking lots | The terraced lots ringing the stadium, opening 2.5 hours before first pitch. No food or alcohol may be consumed in them, and the posted speed limit inside is 14 miles per hour. | | Preferred Parking | The closer, paid-ahead option among the stadium lots, bought in advance rather than at the gate. | | The stadium gates | Open two hours before game time — half an hour after the parking gates — so the gap between arriving and entering is short by design here. | ## Food & Drink Dodger Stadium has transformed its food game to reflect LA's incredible culinary diversity. The Dodger Dog remains the icon, over 2 million sold per season, but the concessions now run from carne asada taco platters and lomo saltado fry helmets to takoyaki from Tokyo's Tsukiji Gindaco, a Korean fried chicken bowl, soju by the bottle, and King's Hawaiian sliders. The center field plaza expansion brought local favorites and craft beer bars inside the gates. Prices are premium (it's LA), but the quality and variety are among the best in MLB. LA's craft beer scene, Golden Road, Angel City, Modern Times, is well-represented on tap. ### Nearby restaurants | Name | Cuisine | Price range | Rating | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | The Douglas | Bar | $ | 4.8 | | Howlin' Ray's Hot Chicken - Chinatown | Chicken Restaurant | $$ | 4.7 | | Highland Park Brewery | Brewery | $$ | 4.6 | | Quarter Sheets | Pizza Restaurant | $$ | 4.6 | | Majordomo | Californian Restaurant | $$$$ | 4.6 | | Guisados | Mexican Restaurant | $ | 4.6 | | Phở 87 | Vietnamese Restaurant | $ | 4.6 | | Homage Brewing | Brewery | $$ | 4.6 | ## Game Day Timeline Dodger Stadium is the largest and one of the oldest active ballparks in MLB, sitting in Chavez Ravine above downtown Los Angeles with views of the San Gabriel Mountains, palm trees, and the downtown skyline. The ballpark is an LA institution. It's hosted the Dodgers since 1962 and has seen everyone from Sandy Koufax to Clayton Kershaw to Shohei Ohtani. The game-day experience is uniquely LA: arrive late, leave early, traffic everywhere, perfect weather, and some of the best food in baseball thanks to LA's diverse culinary scene. The Dodger Dog is iconic. Games run about 3 hours. | Time | What happens | Detail | | --- | --- | --- | | 3 hours before first pitch | Start heading to the stadium | Leave early. LA traffic to Chavez Ravine is brutal. Budget at least 60-90 minutes from anywhere in the basin. Or take the Dodger Stadium Express from Union Station. | | 2 hours before first pitch | Arrive and find parking | Navigate the tiered parking lots of Chavez Ravine. General lots are well-organized but post-game exit is notoriously slow. | | Gates open (2 hours before first pitch) | Enter the stadium | Walk through the gates and take in the panoramic view: palm trees, mountains, and the downtown skyline. The scale of Dodger Stadium is staggering. | | 60 minutes before first pitch | Explore and grab food | Walk the concourse and explore the food options, Dodger Dogs, street tacos, Korean BBQ, and more. Check out the updated center field plaza. | | 30 minutes before first pitch | Find your seat | Settle in and enjoy the golden-hour light on the mountains. The sunset views from Dodger Stadium are legendary. | | First pitch | Play ball | Nine innings in Chavez Ravine. The crowd is casual and social, lots of beach attire, sunglasses, and late arrivals filling in through the 3rd inning. | | 7th inning stretch | Stand up and stretch | The crowd sings along. This is when the early leavers start heading for the exits, a Dodger Stadium tradition as real as the Dodger Dog. | | Post-game | Navigate the exit | The Chavez Ravine parking lots empty slowly. Budget 30-60 minutes to exit. Alternatively, walk to the Dodger Stadium Express shuttle and ride back to Union Station. | ## Lodging | Hotel | Per night | Distance | | --- | --- | --- | | Aiden Los Angeles Downtown Dragon Gate Inn | $180 | 0.7 miles | | Metro Plaza Hotel | $180 | 1.0 miles | | Conrad Los Angeles | $180 | 1.4 miles | | Kawada Hotel | $180 | 1.5 miles | | DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Los Angeles Downtown | $180 | 1.6 miles | ## Typical Weather | Month | High (F) | Low (F) | Precipitation | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | April | 72 | 55 | 0.7 inches | | May | 74 | 58 | 0.3 inches | | June | 77 | 61 | 0.1 inches | | July | 82 | 65 | 0.0 inches | | August | 84 | 65 | 0.0 inches | | September | 83 | 64 | 0.1 inches | | October | 79 | 60 | 0.6 inches | ## Verified Venue Policies ### Accessible entry Wheelchair escorts are available inside Dodger Stadium from any gate on a first-come, first-served basis.
